Band Celebrates Montana Nonprofits with Free Pre-Show Community Festival in Garden City
(MISSOULA, MT) – On August 22, Pearl Jam will host“Our Village,” a free and open-to-the-public community festival that will take place during the day, prior to the show that evening in Missoula, Montana.
Date: Thursday, August 22, 2024
Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Location: Riverbowl Tailgate Area, North of Washington-Grizzly Stadium at University of Montana
Over 30 local nonprofits are participating in the festival, each bringing an interactive, family-friendly activity or sharing a visual display. Activities range from face painting, art projects, and lawn games, to instrument building, bicycle repair demonstrations, photo booths, and various amazing displays.
The Zootown Arts Community Center is programming anentertainment stage at the festival, emceed byMontana Poet Laureate Chris La Tray, and featuring four local bands: American Falcon, (latent), Calamity Cowboy, and But I’m A Cheerleader. Local food trucks and beverage vendors will be present. (Also check outKettleHouse’s signature beer, the MPS Pilsner, a collaboration with Montana Pool Service, founded by Pearl Jam’s own Jeff Ament, of Big Sandy).

Come join us, eat, drink, hear some great local music and meet the folks from some of our favorite local progressive groups. You don’t need a ticket to the show to stop by Our Village. It’s free and open to the public. While you’re here you can register to vote, check your status and engage in our democracy.”
Pearl Jam is also partnering with four progressive nonprofits – Forward Montana, Western Native Voice,Montana Conservation Voters, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of MT – who will be at Our Village to register voters, educate the community, and help fans join the band in taking the Pledge to Vote.
Our Village will be a fun and engaging space for Montana-led nonprofit organizations to connect with one another, Pearl Jam fans, and the greater Missoula community to share their work.
Pearl Jam encourages everyone to get outside and enjoy this free and open-to-the-public festival whether or not they are attending the show. It will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Riverbowl Tailgate Area, North of Washington-Grizzly Stadium.

Hard to believe that our very own SEALS Zinke and Sheehy think so little of their fellow service members as to support and admire this perverted con man criminal and creep. Can you imagine taking orders from such a commander in chief? He leads from the rear, or maybe a jail cell! Very weird for any military member to swear an oath to obey commander bone Spurs!

A bit off topic, but I think it’s important to bring it up for discussion. There’s a video included in this article where we hear what project 2025 is in the author’s own words. And it’s damn scary. These folks are not just nefarious. They’re crazy, un-American, and I would suggest evil. If somehow trump gets in, all hell will break loose. And they’re already scheming behind the scenes and implementing where they can.
I was raised about as conservative as it gets, so I know exactly what conservatism consists of. It’s offensive to me to see how they’ve twisted American conservatism into something unrecognizable and un-American. Goldwater warned us about these creeps, and now they’re here. And it’s as ugly as the Deep South was!

I remember watching live when the very first christofascists booed Goldwater off the stage at the convention. I remember thinking WTF? They thought Barry was too liberal I guess! Over the years, I came to really admire Goldwater for his decency, intelligence, and patriotism. AND, his environmentalism. He loved Arizona. He was evolving into a real statesman.
