Tester campaign launches ‘Republicans for Tester’ in bid for re-election

From The Daily Montanan…

As Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Tester tries to fend off Republican challenger Tim Sheehy this November in a state former President Donald Trump won handily the past two elections, Tester’s team is trying to reach swing and crossover voters by showing Montanans there are Republicans who want the Democrat in office for a fourth term.

The Tester campaign on Tuesday morning launched “Republicans for Tester,” a group of more than 100 Republicans to start that include former and Republican National Committee chairperson Gov. Mark Racicot, former Secretary of State Bob Brown, former Great Falls Mayor Mike Winters, and others including former state lawmakers, GOP party chairs, county commissioners and city council members.

    • Really? Well then, list them! Being familiar with many of the folks on this list, I’d have to say it’s a pretty august and impressive group of good, decent, and accomplished Montana folks. Not a lightweight in the bunch. Folks who put their love of Montana above party. In other words, real Montanans not MAGAs. They remember Montana pre-MAGA!

  1. Might be good news for Tester with those independent voters, as his party’s standard bearer Kamala Harris seem to have picked up huge support with that group.

“Kamala Harris has gained 23 points in a new poll, with a surge that pushed her 9 points ahead of Donald Trump.

The poll questioning independents, carried out by NPRS/PBS News/Marist, found that 53 percent of voters who identified as belonging to this group supported Harris and 44 percent backed Trump.

This 9-point lead is a huge jump from the 14 points by which she was down in Marist‘s July poll, which found 46 percent of independents for Trump and 32 percent for Harris.”

  2. Well that’s encouraging. Just yesterday I was bemoaning how depressing it was to realize that you live in a state full of MAGA morons. I know it’s a small thing, but these folks have given me some much needed hope for our future. It’s definitely a crack in the cult wall! And a heartfelt thanks to this sane group of fellow Montanans! Time to take Montana back!
