MONTANA POLITICAL POTPOURRI:

On Friday, there were reports that Matt Gaetz and Matt Rosendale were going to spend the weekend in Montana making some stops.

On Saturday, Gaetz sent a fundraising email to raise money for Rosendale’s Senate campaign:

Fellow American, I’m on the ground in Montana with my fellow MAGA patriot Matt Rosendale.
I want Matt to take our fight in the House to Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate, where all the good ideas of the House go to die. But he hasn’t announced, so I’m calling on you to help show him America First has his back. He has my full support, but he needs YOURS ASAP.
Matt is who Montana needs in the U.S. Senate because he’s gone up against RINOS by saying NO to more spending until our border is secure, and he won’t back down in the fight to put America FIRST.

I guess they needed to raise some money to pay for their trip across Montana…

Check out the email HERE.

Another MAGA star has a different opinion about Montana’s U.S. Senate race. Marjorie Taylor Greene has endorsed Tim Sheehy for U.S. Senate:

I’m thrilled to endorse the next Senator from Montana, Tim Sheehy! Tim is a Navy SEAL and successful businessman, firefighter, rancher, but most important, he’s a husband and a father.
Tim Sheehy is the conservative political outsider we need in the U.S. Senate to help drain the swamp, end the illegal invasion at the southern border, and put America First. (Source)

So, who has more clout with Montanans, Gaetz or Taylor-Greene?

Buried deep in Politico’s “Playbook” on Friday was this little mystery:

SCOOP: A DONATION MYSTERY — Is someone trolling TIM SHEEHY, or is he trolling Montanans? The GOP establishment’s pick to take on Democratic Sen. JON TESTER backed Trump last spring — so it was surprising when somebody listing Sheehy’s name and address gave the maximum donation to Sen. TIM SCOTT’s (R-S.C.) presidential campaign in June. (This was three days after Trump became the first former president in history to face federal criminal charges.) To make matters more head-scratching, the donation listed Sheehy’s occupation as “plane crasher” — and it came five days before our now-colleague Ursula Perano reported for The Daily Beast on the existence of a lawsuit against Sheehy for a fatal plane crash that happened while he was piloting.

Politico goes on with:

Campaign donations using fake famous names do happen, so it could have been a prank. But the Scott campaign later amended the report (a common practice) to list the occupation as owner of Little Belt Cattle Co., which is Sheehy’s real job. Our colleague Jessica Piper dug through the WinRed records and found other donations in Sheehy’s name — this time to RYAN ZINKE and to Trump — that had listed “plane crasher” as the occupation in the WinRed filing, though the corresponding filings from Zinke’s campaign and Trump’s joint fundraising committee respectively listed him as a “pilot” and a “cowboy.”

Check out the rest of the story HERE. It is near the end of the article.

It seems that Sheehy’s campaign has mostly started off in the ditch.

TRUMP MUST PAY:

The Associated Press (AP) reported Friday that a jury awarded $83.3 million to E. Jean Carroll on Friday in a stinging and expensive rebuke to former President Donald Trump for his continued social media attacks against the longtime advice columnist over her claims that he sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store. The award, coupled with a $5 million sexual assault and defamation verdict last year from another jury in a case brought by Carroll, raised to $88.3 million what Trump must pay her. Protesting vigorously, he said he would appeal.

This is really going to be tough on Trump’s children. He may end up losing their inheritance because he runs his mouth too much. I’m pretty sure that Trump will fight this until the end, but I hope that her attorneys and legal system make him pay.

FOOTBALL ROUNDUP:

Now we are down to two teams in the NFL – my Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. My Chiefs handled the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in Baltimore. The 49ers came from behind to beat the Detroit Lions 34-31.

A few weeks ago, I never figured my Chiefs would make it this far. They finally started playing Chiefs football when the postseason arrived. They won two road playoff games.

The Chiefs/49ers should be a good game. They played in Super Bowl LIV (Feb 2020) with the Chiefs winning 31-20.

The Super Bowl is on February 11 in Las Vegas. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m. Montana time. CBS is televising the game. The Chiefs are two-point underdogs right now, but that can change.

## HAVE A GREAT WEEK ##

  1. I missed the Swift game but during the halftime of the San Francisco /Lions game I learned the Niners’ fullback’s wife made Taylor a Kelce jacket. They said she slayed with her shoes but cut back to the game before they said why. Good stuff.

  2. So there were many shots of Taylor Swift in her box during the KC game yesterday as well as on the field afterwards, and today the usual wingnuts are spewing their hate like clockwork. Gotta love it.

But the real big news of the weekend was that Donald Trump finally admitted what he thinks of his followers. He was at a rally in Nevada and blithering on once again about some imaginary exaggerated version of that simple Medicare-type cognitive screening test that requires you to remember a few words for about a minute, when he told his audience, “There’s only about 2% of this room that can do it.” Burn.
