BUSSE FUNDRAISING:
In a press release provided to The Western Word (TWW), former firearms executive Ryan Busse reported raising more than $171,000 in the first 17 days of his bid to unseat Governor Greg Gianforte. Busse for Montana reported raising $171,025.77 between September 14, the day he announced his candidacy for Governor of Montana, and September 30, the end of the third financial reporting quarter of 2023. This means donors contributed an average of more than $10,000 per day to show Gianforte the door in 2024.
This is a great start for Busse. It will take a lot of money and grassroots campaigning to beat Gianforte. To learn more about Busse, visit his website HERE.

BIDEN TO BUILD WALL:
Do you remember when former President Donald Trump promised Mexico would pay for a border wall between the United States and Mexico? That did not happen, so the border wall is being paid for by you and me.
Reuters reported that President Joe Biden’s administration said on Thursday it will add sections to a border wall to stave off record migrant crossings from Mexico, carrying forward a signature policy of former President Donald Trump. One of Biden’s first actions after taking office in January 2021 was to issue a proclamation pledging that “no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall” as well as a review of all resources that had already been committed.
But now the Biden folks are saying Thursday’s action did not deviate from Biden’s proclamation because the money that was allocated during Trump’s term in 2019 had to be spent now.
As for Trump, Reuters reported that he was quick to claim victory and demand an apology. “As I have stated often, over thousands of years, there are only two things that have consistently worked, wheels, and walls!” Trump wrote on social media. “Will Joe Biden apologize to me and America for taking so long to get moving…”
I think Trump will probably win the spin on this issue.
Whatever we are doing at the southern border does not appear to be working. The border is not “wide-open” as those on the right are saying, but there’s a big problem – there are more crossings than we can handle. If they want to help with the problem, we may need to deploy more troops there (Active/Guard/Reserve) to help stop the illegal crossings.

I have Ring cameras on my property and it’s interesting what they pick up. I happened to see that Ring is offering a $1 million award to anyone who can capture an alien sighting on their Amazon-company doorbell cameras.

The other day I got a postcard from Daines telling me the border was “wide open”. One of the proofs he offered in support of this claim was that many hundreds maybe thousands of pounds of fentanyl had been STOPPED at the border.
