Hello Readers! I hope you have a great Monday. Here are some of the topics that caught my attention:
- Voting in Great Falls
- The Southern Border
- Kansas City, Missouri
- AM Radio
- One More Thing
VOTING IN GREAT FALLS:
The Electric reported last week that a State District Court Judge out of Livingston “has assumed the case against Sandra Merchant and Cascade County over the library levy election.”
In case you missed it, the Great Falls Public Library Board filed a lawsuit that asks the court to appoint a monitor over their levy election.
The levy election is June 6.
According to The Electric, Judge Brenda Gilbert set a hearing date of May 23, but also ordered that Merchant’s office “ensure that ballots are sent to absentee electors by May 17, 2023, in complete and accurate format. Respondents shall further ensure that all other deadlines relative to the library mill levy special election are met in a timely manner.”
This is a great first step and one that I hope leads to a fair and accurate election. Voters need to feel secure that their vote is counted, and that the election is run fairly,

THE SOUTHERN BORDER:
The southern border situation is not perfect, but the expiration of Title 42, did not lead to a mess like some on the right predicted.
Bloomberg and other sources are reporting:
The number of migrants seeking to cross the southern US border has been “markedly down” during the past two days, bucking expectations of a surge after pandemic-era border rules expired, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said.
The US Border Patrol “has experienced a 50% drop in the number of encounters versus what we were experiencing earlier in the week,” before the restrictions known as Title 42 were lifted.
Make no mistake about it, the immigration problem is still there and will continue to be a problem and be used as political talking points until “We, the people” decide we’ve had enough of the clowns not wanting to fix the problem.

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI:
NBC News is reporting that a day after Missouri state lawmakers voted to ban gender-affirming care for transgender minors and restrict it for some trans adults, Kansas City declared itself an LGBTQ sanctuary city.
The vote was 12-1. I applaud this move by the leaders of KCMO!
I am not sure if any cities in Montana have done this or are contemplating doing it.
Missouri is pretty much a MAGA state except for Kansas City and St. Louis.
I was born in Missouri and grew up in the Midwest until I joined the military.
AM RADIO:
Talk radio on the AM dial might be taking a hit…
The Washington Post reports:
Automakers, such as BMW, Volkswagen, Mazda, and Tesla, are removing AM radios from new electric vehicles because electric engines can interfere with the sound of AM stations. And Ford, one of the nation’s top-three auto sellers, is taking a bigger step, eliminating AM from all of its vehicles, electric or gas-operated.
This probably won’t keep the MAGA crowd from listening to their leaders as they would never own an electric vehicle…
ONE MORE THING:
In case you missed it, former President Trump’s posted the following Mother’s Day message on Truth Social…
Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country.” “Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!
Ouch – He forgot to mention his wife Melania, who is the mother of his youngest child… (Source)
