Today’s independent commentary deals with these people/issues:

PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION:

The Hill reported that a pair of rulings by separate federal judges Tuesday temporarily halted parts of the Biden administration’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy for certain workers.
One ruling, issued by a Louisiana-based federal judge, effectively blocked a vaccine mandate for health workers across the country at hospitals that receive federal funding. A second ruling, by a Kentucky-based federal judge, paused the administration’s vaccine mandate for federal contractors in Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.

As for Montana, the Republicans crowed with delight about the temporary ruling. Montana AG Austin Knudsen posted a press release saying:

A U.S. District Court Judge granted Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen’s request for a preliminary injunction against the COVID-19 CMS vaccine mandate, which was set to take effect Monday, December 6, 2021. The vaccine mandate is now stayed in Montana and all other states.

I’ve been around the block a time or two and this issue is far from decided. I remember back when most Montanans were against “REAL ID” and even voted to not comply with the federal requirements. Now Montana is running silly commercials telling people how to obtain a “REAL ID” compliant driver’s license. The power of the purse will have a lot to do with the vaccine mandate whether the courts decide in favor of the Biden Administration or not.

At least this will give the healthcare workers and others ample time to find another job.

Rest assured, no matter the decision I won’t be afraid to write about it even if I agree or disagree. That’s what sets this blog apart from others.

  2. The anti-vaccine crowd celebrating the mandate rulings woke up to sobering news.

    “Marcus Lamb, a televangelist and founder of Daystar Television Network, has reportedly died of COVID-19 after maligning vaccines and allegedly taking ivermectin to prevent infection.”

    Lamb joins a growing list of notable names of anti-vaccine pastors and Christian media personalities who God has called home via Covid apparently to a higher purpose than spreading misinformation on Earth. He works in mysterious ways.
