Who you were, who you are, and who you will be are three different people. -Unknown
Today’s independent commentary deals with these people/issues:
- Trump’s Executive Orders
- The Debate Poll
- Walmart Drive-In
- One More Thing
TRUMP’S EXECUTIVE ORDERS:
Most of the country is still trying to understand President Trump’s executive orders that he signed Saturday. Most wonder if they are even legal.
According to the White House website, they were three Memorandums and one Executive Order.
The actions are basically for unemployment benefits, evictions, student loans, and a payroll tax cut. You can read a description of each by clicking HERE.
I think this is a smart move by Team Trump. You have to look at his followers, many of them uneducated. In these orders, Trump has promised them the moon. The bad people will be the people who try to stop it, which will be Democrats and moderate Republicans.
Trump can say in the last 80-some days before the election that he tried to help with unemployment, or student loans, or their rent and even tried to let them keep more of their hard-earned paycheck. It won’t matter to most of his followers that what he tried to do was unconstitutional. They will say, “Trump tried to help us and the un-American Socialist Democrats stopped him.”
THE DEBATE POLL:
Who do you think won the Montana U.S. Senate debate between Steve Daines and Steve Bullock?

Thanks for voting and be sure to tell your friends!
The results will be posted in my Thursday column.
WALMART DRIVE-IN:
When a friend posted this on Facebook I thought it was a hoax. I checked it out and Walmart is actually hosting “pop-up” drive-in movies at 160 Walmart Supercenter locations across the country.
I did not see a location listed in Montana. There are locations in Oregon and Colorado.
Visit the website HERE.
ONE MORE THING:
President Donald Trump erroneously stated Monday that the Spanish Flu of 1918 ended World War II, incorrectly citing both the year the pandemic occurred and the year that the Second World War ended. The events took place more than two decades apart. (USA Today)
History must be hard for the President…
##END##
Putin is showing Trump how to do things exactly the wrong way with the covid vax. I wouldn’t take that shot with Trump’s arm. And calling it Sputnik? Historical throwback childishness.
Thanks Doug.
