MT U.S. HOUSE 2020:
There are a lot of people running for the open U.S. House seat here in Montana. See the candidates HERE. It’s the only House seat that Montana has, and I predict it will remain that way for the foreseeable future.
Montana’s House seat is open because current Congressman Greg Gianforte is abandoning trying to be reelected to run for Governor. That was after Ryan Zinke abandoned it to be President Trump’s Secretary of Interior, which was after Steve Daines abandoned it to run for the U.S. Senate. Before that, Denny Rehberg abandoned the House seat to run for U.S. Senate. Rick Hill held the seat before Rehberg for a couple of terms but did not seek reelection for health reasons.
All of the above-mentioned people are Republicans. Montana does not have any seniority because people keep leaving the seat for what they feel is greener pastures.
When I look at House candidates in 2020, I will look for someone who wants the seat, who wants to put up with representing a big area with fewer resources than the senators who represent the same area.
There are six Republicans in the primary for U.S. House. Recently I received a flyer from Secretary of State Corey Stapleton, who is abandoning trying to be reelected to that seat to run for U.S. House. On the flyer, he attacks who most believe is the frontrunner, Matt Rosendale. Rosendale is abandoning trying to be reelected to his seat as Auditor to run for U.S. House.
Stapleton proclaims on the front of his flyer that he is “Montana’s only Military Veteran elected to Statewide office.” Here is a photo of the back of the flyer:
Stapleton goes after Rosendale for not being a veteran and puts an “X” by education. I remember people who could not write their signature would be told to place an “X” on the line. Is Stapleton saying Rosendale is uneducated?
He also states that Rosendale opposes the death penalty, supports amnesty for illegal immigrants, flip-flopped to supporting Obamacare. Ouch!
Stapleton puts a question mark in the category of “Supports President Trump” for Rosendale with the remarks, “Co-chair of Trump re-election Committee, raising dark money for his campaign from ‘Never Trumpers!’”
I’m sure that raised some eyebrows!
I’m pretty sure the Stapleton won’t receive a Christmas card from Rosendale this year.
TRUMP PARADE:
Montana Talks radio host Aaron Flint posted a story about plans for a “Trump Parade” on June 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Bozeman. The parade will begin on Main Street.
June 14, 2020, will mark Trump’s 74th birthday.
Flint asks his readers:
Should we throw a big Trump parade in Montana? And if folks come out in support of President Trump and Montana’s Senator Steve Daines (R-MT), maybe out of fairness Chuck Schumer would come throw a parade for Gov. Bullock?
That’s funny, but I doubt Schumer shows up. Schumer will just send tons of money and volunteers to the state to try and defeat Daines in November.
If Daines has to meet non-Republicans, I doubt he shows up.
On a more somber note, I am sure we’ll be close to 90,000 deaths from coronavirus under Trump’s leadership on June 14. I am sure somebody along the route will put up some crosses or hold up some signs to honor those who died and remind the Trump parade participates of his extreme failure.

ONE MORE THING:
Since people have been asking…
The Western Word is coming to you, STILL, I repeat STILL, coronavirus free, from deep inside an underground bunker in Montana. The bunker, where cursive writing is required and the pledge is recited each day, also serves as the worldwide headquarters for The Western Word blog!
Merica!

Jackie, I know this isn’t addressed in your post today. However I have been hearing alot of complaints regarding the long delays in people getting their unemployment checks. Waits of a month to 3 weeks after getting their approval letter but no checks. When they try call Helena unemployment office just endless busy signals. I see no articles in the media about this. People ask me who to contact to complain about and I have no answer. Maybe with your connections you may have a answer. Thank you
Dennis – I can do some checking and bring some publicity to it. Thanks, JmB
Rosendale did not attend college at least has no college degree.
Richard – Thanks! – JmB
