These topics caught my attention in the last 24 hours:

IMPEACHMENT POLLS:

It seems the more information that is released about President Donald Trump asking that Ukraine investigate former Vice President Joe Biden, the more people want there to be an impeachment investigation.

It seems that the Democrats may be winning the publicity war on this issue and Trump is hurting himself with his explosive tweets and comments. With Democrats like Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi staying calm and stating their case professionally, it will go far in turning public opinion.

The Hill pointed out a significant poll that was recently released.

…a Washington Post–Schar School poll released on Tuesday rocked Washington, finding that nearly 30 percent of Republicans support the impeachment investigation and nearly 20 percent support a Senate vote to remove the president if he is impeached in the House.
Since July, the poll found support for an impeachment inquiry has grown by 25 points among Democrats, 21 points among Republicans and 20 points among independents.

The Hill also reported:

According to FiveThirtyEight’s average of polls, support for impeachment among Republicans has increased from 8 percent last month to 16.2 percent presently, while support among independents has leaped from 33.9 percent to 44.4 percent.

Whether or not Trump is impeached, he can’t win reelection without independent votes.

WHITE HOUSE TO DEMS – STICK IT:

Fox News and other news organizations reported that the White House outlined in a defiant eight-page letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and top Democrats on Tuesday why it will not participate in their “illegitimate and unconstitutional” impeachment inquiry, charging that the proceedings have run roughshod over congressional norms and the president’s due-process rights.

Republicans want the House Democrats to hold a vote on starting an impeachment inquiry so they can use it for the next election in some of the districts that were closely contested in the last election.

In the last paragraph of the letter, the author paints the President as needing to get back to work and not having the time to deal with the silliness:

The President has a country to lead. The American people elected him to do this job, and he remains focused on fulfilling his promises to the American people. He has important work that he must continue on their behalf, both at home and around the world, including continuing strong economic growth, extending historically low levels of unemployment, negotiating trade deals, fixing our broken immigration system, lowering prescription drug prices, and addressing mass shooting violence.

Merica! 

Like many other standoffs between the Legislative and the Executive branches of government, the third branch (Judicial) will probably end up settling the disputes. With all the people refusing to testify even when they are subpoenaed, I imagine the judicial branch will be called on sooner rather than later.

The Mirror reported about a new survey by Lelo UK that asked 2,000 men and women about their sex lives, as well as their occupation.

The results revealed that farmers have the most sex, with over 33% claiming to have sex at least once a day.

Farmers were closely followed by architects (21% have sex once a day) and hairdressers (17% have sex once a day).
