The Sunday Message

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

This week Gallup polling reported about church attendance “edging down in recent years” and that:

Gallup’s latest yearly update from its daily tracking survey shows that in 2017, 38% of adults said they attended religious services weekly or almost every week. When Gallup began asking this question in 2008, that figure was 42%.

When they asked a similar question in the 1950s, around 49% said they attended church in the last week.

Maybe not attending church as often is why our country is so messed up in 2018 – by messed up I mean polarized. There’s a lot of hate in the country.

Gallup also said the declining attendance could also be because of who is leading the services (pastor or priest or rabbi).

The person who delivers the message on Sundays is very important. In my opinion, that is near the top. I also think the music and how I am treated by others in a church is near the top of reasons to attend.

You can find a church that fits your needs. All you need to do is look.

Have a great week!
