Tomorrow (Monday, Jan. 15) is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., day. It is a Federal holiday and observed on the third Monday of each year.
I enjoy posting quotes on Facebook and Twitter. One of my favorite quotes from Dr. King is this one:
Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.
I believe in God and read the Bible frequently. I struggle to take that “first step” sometimes because my faith is weak.
Here are some more of my favorite *quotes from Dr. King:
- We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.
- The time is always right to do what is right.
- In the End, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.
- Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Have a great week!
I wonder how the US would be different if we had brought Norwegians as slaves to work the cotton fields.
