Terrific News Tuesday

Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go. – T. S. Eliot

Welcome to Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here are the stories that caught my attention for this week’s TNT column:

  • Grizzlies Do Good
  • U.S. Air Force
  • Bob Seger
  • Joe Thomas
  • Talk like a Pirate Day

Grizzlies Do Good:

Applause for the Montana Grizzlies football players who visited a young fan in the hospital while the team was in Seattle for a game against the University of Washington.

Three-year-old Troy Ross of Great Falls was flown to Seattle Children’s Hospital after a sudden respiratory illness and the players stopped by and visited with him and his family.

Happy 70th Birthday, Air Force:

The United States Air Force celebrated its 70th birthday on Monday (September 18) – and let me say the Air Force is looking good for 70!

As a proud former member of the United States Air Force, I wish “The Force” the best. Nobody has done it better since 1947.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder…

Bob Seger:

It’s great news for classic rock fans – Bob Seger’s “Runaway Train Tour” comes to Billings at the MetraPark on November 13. Tickets range from $58.50 to $113.50. Tickets go on sale this Friday 9/22.

I’ve seen Seger in concert – way back in 1983. Great show! I hear it’s still great! Visit the MetraPark website HERE for details.

Joe Thomas:

Joe Thomas is left tackle for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns. As many football fans know, the Browns have not been winning that many games and they have gone through several quarterbacks.

One person they did not have to worry about was Joe Thomas. There are around 60-75 plays per game and Thomas has played every snap – 10,062 consecutive snaps. He has not missed a snap since he was drafted third overall by the Browns in the 2007 draft.

When asked what it means, Thomas said, “I just hope it means I’m a regular guy who gets up every morning and goes to work, and plays as hard as he can, and is a good teammate. I hope that’s what they say about me.” (SI.com)
