For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. – Romans 15:4(NIV)
I happened to read about a new survey from American Bible Society. It’s an annual survey which started in 2011 about the “State of the Bible.”
The survey contained a lot of great information. You can read it HERE. One part caught my attention and that was reading or listening to the Bible.
The survey found that 58% of Americans wish they spent more time reading or listening to the Bible.
I don’t read the Bible that much because I really like to listen to it. I listen to it via my smartphone on a Bible App called “You Version.” You can download the App HERE. The App also has reading plans that you can use. The website says the Bible App has been downloaded over 267,000,000 times. Wow!
I seem to enjoy listening to the Bible more than just reading it. That leaves me free to go for walks while listening to it or just relaxing. Sometimes I read along with it.
Face it; life today is hectic and face-paced so if technology can help us get closer to God, that is wonderful! It’s important that we carve out a few minutes each day to read or listen to the Bible.
