Terrific News Tuesday

A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit. – Arnold H. Glasow

Welcome to Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Truth in Advertising
  • Drive-in Movie Theater
  • The (real) Green Newspaper
  • United We Rock Tour
  • 2017 Spring Training

Truth in Advertising:

From this week’s “On the Road with Steve Hartman” segment at CBS News.

Charlotte McCourt is an 11-year-old South Orange, New Jersey, Girl Scout and she says the most important thing in life is to be truthful, and that also means being truthful about Girl Scout cookies. So she graded them. Truthfully. In a letter to one customer that went viral on the internet, she wrote, “The Girl Scout Organization can sometimes use false advertisement.”

She figured her honesty would cost her some sales. Read/watch what happened by clicking HERE.

Drive-in Movie Theater:

How cool is this? A Great Falls man, Steven Hellman, is bringing back a date night to remember with pop-up drive-in movie theaters. The theater will be north of Great Falls on Highway 87 and Hellman said he’s hoping to open the seasonal theater in April. The cost will be five dollars per person. (KFBB)

It’s been a very long time since I went to a drive-in movie theater.

The (real) Green Newspaper:

There’s a Japanese newspaper that after you are done reading it you can bury it and water it.Then it will blossom into beautiful shrubbery. (Good News Network)

With over 4 million daily copies in circulation, that’s a lot of shrubs!

United We Rock Tour:

They’re back! REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Don Felder (formerly of the Eagles) are touring together this summer in the “United We Rock Tour!”

Check out the tour dates and announcement video HERE.

2017 Spring Training:

It’s baseball time! Major League Baseball’s 2017 spring training season kicks off this week. You can see when your team plays by clicking HERE.

The regular season begins April 2. I can almost smell that fresh cut grass…
