Welcome to another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT)!

In case this is your first time reading TNT, this column is all about good news. I know it’s hard to believe, but I won’t be complaining or criticizing anyone or anything in this column today – just writing about some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Candidate Forums
  • 63 Days
  • Giant Panda
  • Catalyst Sports
  • Rylee the Dog
  • NFL Kickoff 2016

Candidate Forums:

The Great Falls Tribune recently reported that two separate candidate forums will be held on the same day and time (this Thursday, Sept. 8) in Great Falls. One is focusing on state legislative candidates and the other features the state Supreme Court candidates.

More information can be found HERE.

63 Days:

Giant Panda:

The good news is the giant panda is making a comeback!

I saw an Associated Press story about the giant panda being removed from the endangered list. The International Union for Conservation of Nature said in a report released Sunday that the panda is now classified as a “vulnerable” instead of “endangered” species, reflecting its growing numbers in the wild in southern China.

Catalyst Sports:

Applause to a company called Catalyst Sports. CBS Evening News did a report about Catalyst Sports which helps people with disabilities participate in activities like rock climbing.

You see the story HERE and visit the Catalyst Sports website HERE.

Rylee the Dog:

It was a sad day when Rylee the dog fell out of the family boat on Lake Michigan. The family searched for Rylee and let authorities know about him being lost.

The Associated Press reported that Rylee swam more than 6 miles and walked a dozen more to find his family. He showed up at a campground where someone spotted him and alerted the family.

NFL Kickoff 2016:

Are you ready for NFL football? The 2016 season kicks off this Thursday night with the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos hosting the Carolina Panthers.
