Terrific News Tuesday

Are you ready? It’s time for another edition of Terrific News Tuesday (TNT) because everyone needs a little good news once in awhile.

There’s no griping or complaining today – just some terrific news that caught my attention!

Here is some of the good stuff in this edition of TNT:

  • Stuff the Bus
  • Special Olympics
  • MontanaFair
  • Football
  • Brent Musburger
  • Josh Huestis

United Way Stuff the Bus:

This Thursday (August 6) United Way of Cascade County (Great Falls) will hold their annual “Stuff the Bus” event! They will be collecting school supplies for low income children at Target and Walmart in Great Falls from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Look for the yellow bus at these locations.

For more information, click HERE.

There are many children who need help with school supplies!

Special Olympics:

Congratulations to Montana’s seven Special Olympics athletes who participated in the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles. (Source)

Montana is very proud of you!

Special Olympics is a great organization.

It’s still fair time! The MontanaFair (not to be confused with the Montana State Fair) begins in Billings on August 7 and runs through August 15.

As for concerts, they have classic rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blue Oyster Cult scheduled for August 8, plus they have AWOLNATION performing on August 7. I love the music video from AWOLNATION’s song “Sail.” Watch it HERE.

Football is back:

Last weekend was the final weekend without some sort of football until February. (Source)

That means it’s time to change the batteries in your remote – maybe it’s time to get that new television, too!

Brent Musburger:

Brent Musburger and Jesse Palmer will call the North Dakota State – Montana Grizzlies opening game on Aug. 29 in Missoula. It will be televised on ESPN. (Source)

Musburger was raised in Billings, Montana.  He is one of the great ones.

Josh Huestis:

It was great to hear that Great Falls native and former CMR star Josh Huestis signed a four-year contract with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. (Source)

It’s also been fun watching the local sports reporters cover the news.

Now the hard work begins for Huestis. I wish him well…
