The Sunday Message

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. Revelation 21:4 (NLT)

It’s been a very sad week for the folks in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee, with the death of five military members. Let’s keep them and their families in our prayers.

Many of these people have been deployed to war zones in their careers. Here they were serving in Chattanooga – close to the middle of the United States – and they were murdered.

We never know when our time will come or where we may be when it does come.

It seems this summer has seen a lot of death with car accidents and now the murders in Tennessee. It’s OK to ask God “Why?” It’s OK to be mad about it and grieve about it. Those emotions show we care – it also helps with the healing process.

I believe that someday – maybe when I get to Heaven I will find out why this thing or that thing happened. Maybe I will be so happy that I won’t care. Maybe there was a bigger reason that I just could not see.

The main thing to do in times like this is tell God how you feel. Keep communicating with him. He is the best friend you will ever have. He will always be there.

Be strong and have strength of heart. Do not be afraid or shake with fear because of them. For the Lord your God is the One Who goes with you. He will be faithful to you. He will not leave you alone. – Deuteronomy 31:6 (NLV)

Have a great week!
