A new poll from Gallup this week told us that “Sixty-one percent of Americans support allowing daily prayer to be spoken in the classroom. Though still solidly above the majority level, this is down slightly from 66% in 2001 and 70% in 1999.”

When I was in school, I don’t remember ever praying. When I attended college later in life, I do remember saying a silent prayer before a test or when I started to write a paper.
I have said many times that I believe that everyone should have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I know not everyone feels that way – and that is what freedom is all about. A wise person once told me that we’ll maybe find out in the end which religion (if any) is correct.
And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. –Matthew 6:5 (NIV)
