A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. –Ecclesiastes 3:8 (NIV)
Some people may know the above verse from the Bible because of the song from The Byrds called “Turn, Turn, Turn.” If you’ve never heard the song, watch the video HERE.
I am no expert on international issues, but if you have watched the news much the past few weeks you have probably noticed the war going on between the Israelis and Palestinians. Recently there have been more rockets launched and people killed. I imagine most people probably said, “Oh, are they still fighting over there?”
You can read some information that attempts to explain the issue HERE and HERE
It seems when we see civilians, especially children, being killed and wounded it gets our attention. That is what has happened and it’s not the first time because rockets are launched often.
Some Bible scholars say Ecclesiastes 3:8 describes our lives from being born until we die. We will love and we will hate. We will see wars and we will see peace.
For the young children and civilians who are living in fear during Israel-Palestine conflict, I pray for more peace and love in your lives and less war and less hate.
