For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. – Matthew 25:35-36 (NIV)
I don’t watch or listen to conservative radio and television host Glenn Beck very often and most of his views are to the right of mine. Last week Beck announced that he was taking a trunk load of teddy bears, soccer balls, food, water, and clothing to Texas to give to the undocumented immigrant children who crossed the border.
I would venture to say that most of Beck’s regular audience is against him doing this. They are the seal the border/no amnesty folks. Maybe Beck is doing this as a publicity stunt. If that’s the case, it’s between him and God.
I think it will help those in need and show some compassion. That is a good thing.
