The Sunday Message

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. –Psalm 51:10 (NIV)

Earlier this week the temperature here in Great Falls, Montana, made it to 75. I don’t think it’s been that warm this year so far, so that gives me hope that spring is winning the fight against winter.

With the warmer weather, it’s time for some spring cleaning! So I mowed my yard for the first time this season and I picked up leaves and trash. I even ventured into my garage and cleaned.

Spring always gives me a feeling of starting over – of renewal. Before moving to Montana, I had moved a lot in my life. When I was young, my dad worked on road construction, so spring was the time that he would start a new job – maybe building an interstate here or a bridge there. It also meant that I might be moving. So spring gives me the feeling that I want to travel or move or just see what is over the next hill.

Enjoy the season – and get outside and enjoy God’s work!

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come…Song of Solomon 2:11-12 (NIV)
