The Sunday Message

We are the champions, my friends,
And we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end.
We are the champions.
We are the champions.
No time for losers
Cause we are the champions of the world.

We Are the Champions

1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV)
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

I enjoy watching sports. When I was younger I enjoyed playing sports. I enjoyed the competition. I am the type of person who likes to win, and I have been known to get a little sore at losing.

Several years ago, I officiated flag football for two seasons and I was shocked at how parents and coaches acted during the games. Several times I had to stop the games and tell coaches to “knock it off” when they were yelling at me. One time I had to stop the game and tell a parent to get off the field as they had run onto the field screaming and pointing that I missed a player holding another player.

This was only flag football!

What if we had that much enthusiasm for God? I wish I did.

We are supposed to be excited for God. In Revelation 3:16 we find, “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”

Have a great week!
