According to The Hill, the “deal to avoid the ‘fiscal cliff’ will add roughly $4 trillion to the deficit when compared to current law, according to new numbers from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).
Will the folks in Washington, D.C. ever learn?
The U.S. House will vote on a $9 billion flood insurance package on Friday for the victims of Super storm Sandy after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie blamed Speaker John Boehner and the House majority for their lack of help in securing disaster funds. They will then vote on an additional $51 billion in two weeks.
It’s shameful that the House did not approve this funding weeks ago…
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, “In the week ending December 29, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 372,000, an increase of 10,000 from the previous week’s revised figure of 362,000.”
In simpler terms, 372,000 people filed new claims for unemployment…
The 113th Congress will convene today (Thursday, January 3) for a two year run.

Members of Congress should hire veterans on their staff, which would keep many of them from looking ignorant about military and veterans’ issues…
