One thing for sure, Teamster President Jimmy Hoffa sure got the crowd warmed up on Labor Day with these three sentences:

President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong.

As a kid attending union meetings with my dearly departed dad, I can remember harsher things being said, discussed, and done.

Hopefully Hoffa warmed up the whole country, too.

The “proper” Conservatives were horrified by these remarks right from the get-go when Fox News’ Megyn Kelly reported them (and brought the Gabby Giffords shooting into the mix) and continued into Tuesday when my least favorite person on Fox News (or any other news channel), Gretchen Carlson, looked down her nose at the remarks and tried to get Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to take a bite of the apple by calling it “violent language.” Carlson’s personal opinions always seep into her interviews, but Wasserman Schultz easily handles “the Gretchens” of the world.

Really though – they all need to calm down.

The fact is that America is not what it used to be.  We do need to get America back.  14 million people are out of work.  Millions more can’t find a suitable job and still millions of others have fallen off the books and aren’t counted any more.

Sometimes it’s refreshing to hear someone like Jimmy Hoffa be as ticked off as I am about the mess our country is in.  Refreshing.
