Meth

There’s been a lot of talk recently about the Montana Meth Project and how effective it has been in reducing Meth use in Montana, and whether the state should help pay for the program. I have watched the arguments on TV, in the newspapers, and in the blogs.

While I am no expert, I do have a couple of children who have been touched by the advertising campaign over the last couple of years. It made them think. It shocked them, which is harder to do with young people these days then when I was a young critter.

It showed them that using Meth was bad in a way that parents may not or would not be able to do. Plus, when I see thousands of young people get together for one purpose like they did in Helena a few days ago in support of the project, that’s pretty historic. So, in those aspects, the Montana Meth Project seems to be effective and that is the reason why it should continue.

Of course, some will say these are tough times economically and the state should not kick in any money to fund the project. I’d like to see to state help the program, because in the long run they will have to help those who get addicted to the drug. Any money the state or federal government gives must be used wisely.

By the way, people interested in donating to the program can help by going HERE.
