The Commercials

The Clinton campaign came out with a new video late last week called, “Children.”

I thought it was a pretty good video, and I did not think it was fear mongering as some have said. Although who is the best person to protect us is something that we all must think of when electing a President, the video did have some holes in it.

The video started with a man talking and a phone ringing in background. The man says, “It’s 3:00 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep, but there’s a phone in White House and it’s ringing. Something is happening in the world.”

But after viewing the video a couple of times, I made some observations. Since the voiceover stated it was 3:00 a.m., one of the first things I wondered was why are most of the lights on in the house. This house was wasting energy. The second thing I wondered was why did the father figure in the video have on a dress shirt and slacks at 3:00 a.m. Maybe he works nights? The third thing I noticed was that Hillary, if it was really 3:00 a.m. and it was an urgent call, stopped to put on a nice necklace, and maybe lipstick? Plus, the phone rang six times. I’d think when “that phone” rings, she would answer it on the first or second ring. Maybe she is a deep sleeper?

If something is hitting the fan at 3:00 a.m., then yes, I would rather have Hillary Clinton answering the phone instead of Barack Obama. But, I’d rather have John McCain answering the phone instead of Clinton or Obama.

Of course, Obama released a video to counter Clinton’s. His biggest issue in regards to National Security is he claims he was against the Iraq war from the beginning, although he was not in the Senate at the time. of the vote. It’s always easy to Monday morning quarterback. At that time (Oct. 2002) the U.S. Senate voted 77-23 to authorize President Bush to attack Iraq if they did not disarm. The House approved it 296-133.

I think Clinton may be making some points pointing out Obama’s lack of experience. He was a state senator, elected to the U.S. Senate, then started running for President. Clinton has another campaign ad out touting Obama’s been too busy running for President to hold a hearing in the U.S. Senate about Afghanistan. We’ll see if her momentum leads her to victory in Ohio and Texas on Tuesday. If she does win these states, then she has a case of being able to win the big states, and that makes her a stronger candidate in the General election.
