A Federal jury ruled in favor of a fallen Marine’s father today awarding him $2.9 million from the Westboro Baptist Church and three of its leaders.
They were found liable for invasion of privacy and intent to inflict emotional distress for picketing the funeral of the Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, who was killed in Iraq. His father, Albert Snyder, filed a lawsuit.
These are the people who have picketed here in Montana at some military funerals. When they picket, they hold up signs that read, “Thank God for dead soldiers” and “God hates fags.”
Of course, this is probably far from over. It will probably end up in the U.S. Supreme Court. Congratulations to Mr. Snyder. I’ll be praying for your victory in the appeals.

This <>is<> good news. Seeing as the kind folks at Westboro Baptist fund their craptacular escapades by suing the pants off people who lose their cool and take a swing at them. Turnabout is fair play. More than fair, in fact.
