Randy Moss and stuff

Randy Moss was fined $10,000 on Thursday by the NFL for pretending to pull down his pants and moon the Green Bay crowd during a playoff game last weekend. Since he makes around $5.75 MILLION a year, that ain’t much…..he needs some class. The owner of the Vikes, Red McCombs, was irate that Joe Buck, Fox TV announcer, said it was a disgusting act. McCombs has asked that Joe Buck not cover the Vikings games on Sunday.

Joe Buck was right. Moss is a jerk and McCombs is totally wrong. If they would suspend these players, even for playoff games, they might get the message. Fox sports has refused to move Joe Buck from the broadcast. Good for them! Maybe we can get them to remove Tim McCarver from baseball instead….

Speaking of classy football players, people like Moss could take a few lessons from folks like Marcus Allen and Barry Sanders. When they scored six points, they acted like they had been in the endzone before. Priest Holmes has a slight ritual he does, but nothing like some of the millionaire jerks. By the way, Priest Holmes scored 27 TDs in 2003 – a new NFL record. I was at Arrowhead Stadium when it happened on Sunday, December 28, 2003. Plane tickets: $300, Rental car $60 per day, tickets: $60. A couple beers: $14, seeing Priest Holmes break the record with my son: Priceless. 78,000 people in Arrowhead that day. Two weeks later the Chiefs lost to the Colts in the playoffs and their 13-3 season went down the tube.

Hopefully the Chiefs will pick up a handful of defensive players in the off-season and make it to the playoffs next year. Jared Allen has come on as D-End. He may be the real deal.

Steroids banned by Major League Baseball…sure!

It almost 20 below zero (not counting wind chill) here in Montana today—what a country!
