Tuesday’s Quick Hits

Hello! Here are the topics for today’s commentary:

  • The Sheehy Interview
  • The Gianforte Endorsements
  • No Mall Would Hire Donald Trump

THE SHEEHY INTERVIEW:

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy actually did an interview with NBC Montana. After viewing the interview a few times, I can understand why his team does not want to put him in front of the press.

When he was asked about the gunshot wound, he pivoted to blame the story on Jon Tester’s campaign saying he “planted” the story with the Washington Post to “smear” his military record. He never said he lied but went into a drawn-out story about his time in Afghanistan.

The reporter should have asked, “So you lied to the park ranger?”

The bottom line is Sheehy did lie. Until he comes clean on that, we can’t really believe anything he says.

He was asked about the Daily Beast reporting that his campaign aide liked and shared a racist post. His first comment was the Daily Beast is not a news source and an extension of the Democratic campaign. As for the question, he said, “Don’t know anything about it” but “if the Daily Beast writes it, I wouldn’t believe it.”

Either he decided to protect his racist staffer or his staff did not prepare him for this interview.

Sheehy also said that Montana Free Press is not a news organization when he was asked about their article regarding the loss of $77 million by his business in 2023.

There’s more to the nine-minute interview that you can view HERE. I doubt Sheehy will be doing too many more of these interviews because he failed miserably. It should not have been hard to prepare him for what might be asked, but after it was over I guess it was. A box of rocks would have fared better.

THE GIANFORTE ENDORSEMENTS:

The Daily Montanan reported that Montana Governor Greg Gianforte’s campaign released his endorsements for Republican legislative candidates in the upcoming primaries Thursday with some surprising choices, including choosing not to endorse House leadership.

Ouch.

I remember when elected Republican officials would not endorse Republicans in contested primaries to keep peace in the family. Those days have gone down the toilet – just like most of the Republican MAGA-loving scum running the party these days.

The Daily Montanan says that House Speaker Matt Regier and Speaker Pro Tempore Rhonda Knudsen were notably absent from Gianforte’s list of 58 legislative endorsements.

In what was probably most hurtful Gianforte also endorsed the opponent in Rep. Lola Sheldon-Galloway’s primary, who had two abortion restriction bills recognized at the same signing ceremony as she posed with the governor. The Great Falls Republican was termed out of the House and is running in Senate District 13. The governor instead endorsed Rep. Josh Kassmier, R-Fort Benton, who can lean moderate.

It has to piss off the Republicans not getting endorsed by the Republican Governor, and I am sure there will be some backlash in the next legislature if those not endorsed get elected.

Meanwhile, the Democrats have to be loving this silly move by Gianforte.

NO MALL WOULD HIRE DONALD TRUMP:

In case you missed it, “Republican Voters Against Trump” has published a one-minute video that shows if he was in the real world, Donald Trump could not get a job at the local mall.

You can see the video HERE.

Make sure you share it with your MAGA friends!

  1. I’m thinkin’ that besides being an habitual liar, Tall Tale Timmy just ain’t real bright either. I wonder if he really thinks that he’s going to reduce the national debt by giving even more tax breaks to the wealthy and cutting our social security and medicaire, a goal the MAGAs have been salivating over for a long time. I think Timmy ain’t quite ready for prime time. He really should stop his obvious lying and just come out and say it. The very first MAGA priority is to end social security and medicaire so they can trickle down on us some more. Same old lies are getting mighty stale. I think their shelf life has pretty much expired.
