God moves in a mysterious way…William Cowper

Back in April I wrote about a new movie that was coming out called “Noah” and some of the comments about it not being as biblically-based as some people thought it should be.

In that column I said,

Christians, especially evangelical Christians (I am one) need to calm down some. Stop acting snobbish, and stop acting like you alone have all the facts about God, Jesus, the Bible, and even Noah.

It turns people off.

God speaks to people in many different ways. God shows us things in different ways. So relax.

You can read one view about the movie from the person who was “Biblical Consultant” to the filmmakers HERE.

As of yesterday, “Noah” had grossed $359,200,044 worldwide which is very good. It’s been out on DVD since July 29.

I watched “Noah” Friday night (I know I know it’s an exciting life I live). Overall I liked the movie – I give it an 8/10. By the way, the performances of Jennifer Connelly who played Noah’s wife and Emma Watson who played Noah’s adopted daughter, were fantastic.

Throughout the movie I thought a few times that I needed to read the book of Genesis a little more closely and study one of my favorite men in the Bible a little more.

It’s kind of interesting how God works, isn’t it.
