The President’s Speech

Maybe it’s just me, but last night’s speech from President Obama didn’t seem to do much for me. I did not feel better or worse after hearing it. I kind of did not care, which is sad for me because here we are dropping bombs on a country and killing people and I could not make myself care that much about it. I don’t think others cared either. How about you – the comment section is open!

Are we just so burned out on war that we don’t care about another one? It used to be if we lobbed a bomb on another country, it was big news. Not anymore.

Even the local daily newspaper found just a little bit of room on their front page (at the bottom left corner) to paste a 500-word story from McClatchy which continued on page 6A.

Often local newspapers will get reactions from their readers; I did not see it for this speech. I also did not see any statements from the congressional delegation in the newspaper or hitting my inbox. It is weird when politicians don’t try to use a moment to garner some publicity. Continue reading
