“If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.” – Chinese Proverb
Although we should care for those less fortunate than us year-round, it seems during the Christmas season we hear more about giving and caring for others than during the rest of the year.
Hebrews 13:16 (NIV) says “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
There may be a family or someone you know who may have it tough over the holidays – help them! It may be providing a toy or clothing for a child, a meal for a family, giving a few extra dollars to a charity, or maybe just serving food to those less fortunate.
We can all do something.
John 15:12 (NIV), “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
