It’s that time of year when newly-elected officials take the oath of office with swearing-in ceremonies. There are various ceremonies all across the fruited plains from small city halls and courtrooms all the way to the Capitol in Washington, D.C.

The 64th session of the Montana Legislature will convene on January 5 in Helena, which means January – April will probably be more exciting than it should be. Republicans control the state House and Senate, but the Governor is a Democrat.
Republicans Steve Daines and Ryan Zinke will be sworn in to the U.S. Senate and to the U.S. House of Representatives, respectively, on January 6 in Washington, D.C. Republicans will control the House and the Senate, but the President is a Democrat.
