When a newspaper article starts with “In a chamber dotted with female legislators wearing new camo scarves” it, for some reason, gets my attention.
The camo scarves (from Nordstrom) were being worn by Alaska’s female legislators as they and their colleagues passed a piece of legislation that “declares that guns and ammunition possessed by Alaskans are exempt from federal gun laws. It also subjects federal agents to felony charges if they try to enforce any future federal ban on semi-automatic weapons or ammunition or enforce any new federal requirement for gun registration.”
Booyah!
I don’t follow Alaska state politics enough to know if they have declared the local County Sheriff to be the supreme law of the land yet. If not, here’s a draft they can use and just take out the word “Montana” and insert “Alaska” in its place.
