The Sunday Message

I [Donald John Trump] do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God. –The Presidential Oath of Office

Those were the words that Donald J. Trump said to become the 45th President of the United States. Just like any elected official, there will be those who like Trump, those who dislike Trump, and those who will have a wait and see attitude. I write about politics a lot, so I am pretty sure he will give me something to write about (good and bad).

The bottom line is that we should pray for President Trump and his administration and for our country.

During the Inauguration Ceremony, there were six religious leaders that took part in the ceremony. The oath ended with “so help me God” and Trump placed his hand on a Bible used by Abraham Lincoln when he took the oath. Trump also used a second Bible that was his own given to him by his mother in 1955. You can see the Inauguration program HERE.

It’s good to see religion playing a part in the inauguration. There’s enormous pressure on a new leader of the United States. I can’t imagine anyone holding that office not relying on God to help them.

Show respect to all men. Love the Christians. Honor God with love and fear. Respect the head leader of the country. - 1 Peter 2:17 (NLV)
