GREAT FALLS SCHOOL BOARD:

As I reported yesterday, I received my ballot for the Great Falls School Board election that is being held on May 6. 

Today, I received a flyer in the mail urging me to vote for Gordon Johnson, Paige Turoski, and Craig Duff for the three positions. Montanans Organized for Education, PAC, paid for the flyer.

OPEN GOVERNMENT:

The Montana Free Press (MTFP) reported that the state Supreme Court has upheld Montanans’ right to open government meetings and public disclosure concerning the governor’s appointment of replacement judges for state district court. In an order issued Tuesday, a five-justice panel ruled in favor of the Choteau Acantha newspaper and Montana Free Press, who argued that an advisory council appointed by the governor erred by closing its proceedings while reviewing candidates for a 9th Judicial District judgeship in 2023.

This was the correct decision. A salute to the Choteau Acantha and the Montana Free Press for fighting for open government! 

POPE FRANCIS:

This information, which I have checked in several places, is just wild.

According to EDATV.News, Pope Francis’s death continues to make headlines and capture front pages. It was on April 21 at 7:35, but in Argentina, it was 2:35 in the morning. Precisely at 88 years old.

Remember the numbers 88 and 235.

Pope Francis was very passionate about soccer, especially about the San Lorenzo de Almagro football (Soccer) club in his home country of Argentina.  His membership number to the club was 88.235N-0.
