Tuesday’s Quick Hits

Greetings! Here are the topics that made today’s column:

  • FCS National Championship
  • Great Falls Mayor
  • Certification

FCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP:

The Montana State Bobcats lost to the North Dakota State Bison 35-32 in the FCS Football National Championship last night. The Bobcats finish the season 15-1. The Bison finished 14-2.

You can check out the box score HERE

Congratulations to the Bobcats for a great season.

GREAT FALLS MAYOR:

Current Great Falls Mayor Cory Reeves announced he will run for a second term this November.  Great Falls City Commissioner Rick Tryon announced that he was supporting Reeves.

I want to announce that I am, once again, not voting for Reeves.  Thank you.

CERTIFICATION:

The Hill reported that Congress on Monday certified President-elect Trump’s electoral victory, officially cementing his win over Vice President Harris ahead of his inauguration with no objections from any lawmakers as a tally of states was read on the House floor.

There were a lot of memes floating around the internet about the certification, considering after the last presidential election, the MAGAs tried to kill the Vice President and did damage to our capitol.

My favorite one (so far) is this:

Hey, look at us… we’re not storming the Capitol today because our candidate lost an election.

  1. Thank God Zinke, Shady, and Daines have sworn allegiance to their orange dear leader!

    • We could replace them with monkeys to dutifully press the “aye” button for whatever Trump wants, and would be losing nothing. With Rosendale slunk off into the sunset there will be zero chance of any independence or anyone pushing back or voting nay on anything.

  2. According to Mayor Cory services have been improved during his first term. Not sure what those are, exactly. Nothing really noticeable here on my block, other than all the services have become more expensive on his watch. And library services are going to have to be cut.
