Tuesday’s Quick Hits

Welcome! Here are the topics for today’s independent commentary:

  • Final Tele-Town Hall
  • Trump, Trump, Trump
  • Meme of the Day
  • One More Thing

FINAL TELE-TOWN HALL:

We should send U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale out in style!

I received an email invite from Rosendale alerting me that on Tuesday (TODAY) at 6 PM MT, he will be hosting his final town hall of this Congress to provide an overview of the 118th Congress and how he believes Washington can improve in the future.

To join, dial (833) 946-1526 at 6 pm Tuesday!

Maybe Rosendale will return to Montana to challenge U.S. Senator Steve Daines in 2026!  Maybe he is done with politics. Maybe he is going drone hunting!

TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP:

President-elect Donald Trump held a press conference on Monday. The Associated Press (AP) called it “wide-ranging.” It lasted over an hour.

I commend Trump for holding the press conference and actually taking questions from different reporters. U.S. Senator-Elect Tim Sheehy should take notice.

Trump very seldom finished a sentence. His hair looked more gray than normal. Trump is 78 years old. I still think he is too old to be President. I have said the same thing for years about Joe Biden, who is 82.

The AP reported on the press conference HERE. The Hill reports on it HERE. USA Today reports on it HERE.

Also on Monday, the AP reported that a judge refused to throw out President-elect Donald Trump’s hush money conviction because of the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent ruling on presidential immunity. But the overall future of the historic case remains unclear.

In case you forgot about that conviction, the AP reports that this is the case where a jury convicted Trump in May of 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 hush money payment to porn actor Stormy Daniels in 2016. Trump denies wrongdoing.

He should be held accountable for these 34 counts. Will he? I doubt it.

MEME OF THE DAY:

I used a public restroom today. I was in the stall when I heard someone enter. I didn’t know their gender. I didn’t care. (Source

ONE MORE THING:

Hey football fans – there are football games every day from now until January 5. The major college schedule can be found HERE. The NFL schedule can be found HERE

  1. Nope Rosendale stayed true to the end, voting a “nope” (yet again) against our men and women in uniform, ignoring the big picture as usual to focus on his personal picayune sideshow interests, with a nope on the latest NDAA because it did not eliminate every last trace of what he personally believes is “woke” in the military. He has been truly an embarrassment to Montana. Legacy: “He tilted mightily against the windmills of woke.”

A final town hall? Good riddance. I’m sure the world will be listening with bated breath to hear how a totally ineffective lamest of the lame duck who could not even secure Trump’s endorsement thinks Washington can improve in the future.

Also on the immediate horizon, a hearty “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” to Cascade county commissioner Rae Grulkowski, 86’ed by her own party in the primaries and then resoundingly again rejected by all voters in her failed write-in effort.

Two ineffective ideological extremists we will be much better off without. When we’re paying people good money in salary, we expect some actual results even if they have to compromise their personal beliefs a little.
