Greetings! Here are the topics for today’s column:

KNUDSEN – O CANADA:
I’ve got to hand it to Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen. Why? If you Google him then you will see that he has a lot on his plate.
There’s a lawsuit filed against him by a former Montana Highway Patrol Colonel, then there’s the commission regulating lawyer conduct that recommended Knudsen be suspended from the practice of law for 90 days for 41 counts of professional misconduct. Oh yeah, he ran for reelection and the MAGAs re-elected him.
Although he has a lot on his plate, he is now busy protecting us from…Canada.
Canada!
The Daily Caller reported that Knudsen said Monday that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) sought to conduct surveillance at several gun shows in the state, a request he vehemently rejected.
They also reported that Knudsen said the Canadian agency contacted the Montana Department of Justice and Division of Criminal Investigations about observing gun shows in Bozeman and Kalispell.
Knudsen went on to compare Canada to China.
I’m not sure China ever called a Department of Justice in any state and asked for permission to observe a gun show. I wonder if Knudsen knows that Canada is a friend?
Knudsen’s actions are pretty easy to see through. He needs some positive press with all the negative stuff out there. Plus, I suspect he wants to run for Governor, so this action will gain him some traction with the MAGAs.
Check out the Daily Caller article HERE.
TRUMP ESCAPES:
The Associated Press (AP) reported that Special Counsel Jack Smith moved to abandon two criminal cases against Donald Trump on Monday, acknowledging that Trump’s return to the White House will preclude attempts to federally prosecute him for retaining classified documents or trying to overturn his 2020 election defeat.
I figured this would happen. What worries me is now Trump probably feels invincible. What laws will he break in the next four years?
His legal team is attempting to throw out the conviction involving the hush money payments. That sentencing is on hold. It is a state case in New York. The AP reports Trump was also indicted in Georgia along with 18 others accused of participating in a sprawling scheme to illegally overturn the 2020 presidential election there. Trump has pleaded not guilty.
HUNTER BIDEN – PARDON/COMMUTATION:
I saw where President-elect Donald Trump bragged about the federal cases against him being dismissed. He called the cases a “political hijacking” and “should have never been brought.”
Trump’s spokesperson said, Americans “want an immediate end to the political weaponization of our justice system and we look forward to uniting our country.”
Politics and political weaponization played a role in the cases against Hunter Biden.
Politico reports that on Dec. 12, Hunter Biden will appear in federal court in Delaware, where he was convicted over the summer of buying a gun in 2018 while addicted to drugs. Several days later, he is set to appear before a federal judge in Los Angeles for sentencing on tax fraud charges, which he pleaded guilty to in September just as a trial was about to get underway.
As soon as these verdicts are completed, President Biden should pardon his son or issue a commutation.
Ankush Khardori, senior writer for Politico, writes:
Let’s start with a basic but important proposition: The cases against Hunter Biden probably would not have been brought against anyone else.
This is not to excuse any of Hunter Biden’s conduct, but the gun charges have almost no real precedent, and the conduct underlying the tax charges is usually resolved by the Justice Department through repayment and/or fines.
The reason we are here is because Trump and his Republican allies effectively — and successfully — pressured Joe Biden’s own Justice Department to prosecute his son.
Khardori goes on to write:
Particularly in the wake of Trump’s victory, Biden is on strong ground — at a minimum — to commute any sentence of imprisonment for his son Hunter before he leaves office. Not a pardon exactly, but an important show of mercy.
A commutation or pardon would be the right thing to do.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS:
Some playoffs are on the horizon for Montana’s two FCS college football teams, while two Montana NAIA teams made it to the second round.
The Montana State Bobcats earned the #1 seed in the FCS and will get a bye next week. The Montana Grizzlies are the #14 seed and will host Tennessee State on Saturday at 8:15 pm. (Bracket)
The NAIA Football playoffs are heading to the second round. (Source)
#4 Montana Western 9-1 vs. #14 Dickinson State (N.D.) 10-1 at noon on Saturday in Dillon.
#7 Montana Tech 9-2 vs. #11 Northwestern (Iowa) 8-2 at 1:00 pm Saturday in Butte.
Best of luck to all the Montana teams!
## END ##

A MAGA and their money are soon departed.

AG Knutsen wants to be governor so bad he can taste it. He really wants to keep his name in the news no matter how bizarre the situation. I’m sure he will be able to do that as the next Montana legislature will once again continue to pass unconstitutional laws even when told by their own attorneys they are illegal. This session will be even more far right as the new Speaker of the House Ler, is even more far right MEGA then the last Speaker. He basically said he is going to ignore the Montana Supreme Court. If you thought we were the butt of jokes last session by kicking Zooey Zephyr out of the house floor just wait for this guy to take over. His whole qualifications are he owns multiple AR 15 style weapons which he had his children hold in his political ads and has A rating by NRA. Actually Knutsen doesn’t have much to worry about in his quest to be the next governor. He has been a top vote getter each election no matter his problems. MEGA voters don’t care about any of that, the nation just elected a convicted felon, Montana MEGA just defeated a real actual dirt farmer for a pretend cowboy who is hiding from the press and lies as much as Trump. I’m wondering how those Montana MEGA farmers, ranchers are feeling today when Trump says put a 25% tariff on two of our main agricultural trading partners Mexico and Canada. Trump ruined the export market with China last time which has never recovered. But Trump bailed farmers out with 12 billion in farm payments. The MEGA wants to get rid of most government agencies, good luck when no one answers the phone at Farm Service Agencies when a natural disaster happens. I’m really over the MEGA answer Trump will bring prices down. Tariffs never bring prices down, companies just pass it on. I think these MEGA voters need to look at Trump’s Cabinet most are billionaire. I seriously believe Knutsen will be elected governor in 2028, and he wants to turn the state back to the go old 1950″s as he is Christian Nationalist. Do any of you remember when he was Speaker of House and wanted female members dress code skirt lengths and necklines. Unfortunately I believe the Montana GOP will control all the power offices for next 12 years for sure as the Montana Democrat Party has no leader and no plan. They Montana Democrats have been doing the same thing for over 20 years and losing, yet make no attempt to change. Yes Montana Democrats just keep ignoring rural voters!
MAGA= make America great again
MASA=make America suck again
MEGA=?
The Dems dug their own grave with the law fare against Trump.
Not only did they fail to “get” Trump they set the legal precedent to investigate and prosecute other high profile politicians, including Presidents.
Pandora’s box is now open, and Trump holds the paddle.
Trump probably feels there are no checks and balances now. Watch out world. -JmB
Trump railed against the alleged weaponization of the Justice Department and said the American people aren’t going to stand for it. Other Repubs promised to “end weaponization”. All that wouldn’t have been lies, would it?
And of course the worm turns in just four short years.
Four years is too late Larry.
The planets will align on Trump’s inauguration day.

This alignment will be within the first 24 hours of Trump’s term when he said he would end the wars.
It just took Trudeau (son of Castro) two hours to call Trump about the tariffs.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14126453/Justin-Trudeau-calls-Trump-tariffs-Canada-Mexico-China-border.html
“‘Canada is essential to US domestic energy supply and last year 60 percent of US crude oil imports originated in Canada,’ read the statement issued by Trudeau, finance minister Chrystia Freeland and public safety minister Dominic LeBlanc.
‘We will of course continue to discuss these issues with the incoming administration.'”
Interesting thing about oil, it can be sold just about anywhere.
Eventually even the MAGAs will realize they’ve been conned again. Then look out!

If Trump thinks it is necessary to put tariffs on Canada to pressure them to stop the flow of drugs and immigrants south, you would think Trump and the attorneys general of the USA could make the absolute minimum effort to try and stop the flow of guns north, by simply cooperating with our neighbor police agencies to the north who want to do the work. Back the red, so to speak.
But no. Not Knudsen. Even though it is obvious the mounties know that Montana and Montana gun shows are a source of illegal weapons flowing into Canada. Not our problem!
Knudey must be so proud to aid the gun smugglers, druggies, gangs, and psycho killers in our neighboring country to the north, especially since he’s helping the NRA open up the vast untouched Canadian markets to American style gun violence even though the folks there want nothing to do with it. Hard to see how allowing the Canadian authorities a bit of help to stem illegal activities gets Knudey’s knickers in a knot, but Knudey’s never happy without twisted knickers ‘bout one thing or another. He really should explain himself to the Canadian people though, the ones who have to suffer his BS.

No doubt Austie and fellow gun pushers feel Canadian laws are misguided and all citizens of the world should have the same rights to guns and using them to shoot up little school kids or workplaces as citizens of the USA.
So let’s say some country, maybe China, feels USA drug laws are misguided and everyone should have free access to fentanyl and fentanyl precursors or whatever. So then why should they be expected to help enforce USA drug laws inside their borders?
Heck, just abandon all international police cooperation, and say if there’s some terrorist or drug lord out there in the world the USA wants, well then that’s our problem and our problem only. Shouldn’t expect some country in Europe or Latin America to do our policing for us. Save everyone a lot of time and money for internal needs. And oh by the way, don’t try and go to that other country and do your own policing! Tinhorn politicians don’t want you on their turf and possibly messing with the lucrative businesses of friends and neighbors and contributors.
Canadians don’t want guns to shoot up schools.
They just want guns to kill Nazis and their spawn.

Careful, Swede. You don’t want to open that can of worms, for we were just as guilty. We stole as many Nazis as we could before the Soviets could get them. Some of the nastiest ended up in the CIA to train our spooks their nasty secret police techniques. One of the most fascinating Nazi characters was a guy named Otto Skorzeny.
