Happy Friday! Here are the topics that caught my eye this week:
- Shielded Sheehy
- Montana Voters Guide
- Reading Assignments
- One More Thing
SHIELDED SHEEHY:
A faithful reader pointed out a CNN story that reports about how the Republican U.S. Senate candidate, Tim Sheehy, and his campaign have gone to extreme lengths to avoid press scrutiny.
CNN reported:
And after CNN was turned away from the Bozeman event this week, after learning about it through sources, his (Sheehy’s) campaign orchestrated his departure to try to deny a TV camera from getting footage of him leaving – going as far as dispatching a pickup truck to block the camera in order to let Sheehy leave without being seen in another vehicle.
Those maneuvers to get out of being asked a question makes Sheehy a chickenshit or a coward. Pick one or both. Sheehy can’t always go on conservative talk radio or Fox News and be given softball questions.
Hey Montanans – There are more questions than answers for Sheehy. The gunshot wound, plagiarism, business issues, racism, plane crash settlement, etc., are just waiting for answers. Nobody in their right mind should vote for him until he comes clean. Who knows what else is out there from his past? This guy is just freaking weird.

MONTANA VOTERS GUIDE:
I received the 2024 Montana Voter Information Pamphlet in the mail Thursday. Is this a great country or what?
According to the pamphlet, 510,000 copies were made at a cost of $44,625. They also state that county governments paid for the distribution costs.
You can see an electronic version HERE.
Most of the pamphlet was about the ballot issues, CI-126, CI-127, and CI-128. The ballot language was listed, and the “Arguments For” and “Arguments Against” the ballot issue, plus rebuttals were published.
Here’s a tip: See who is listed on the “Approval Committee” and the “Rejection Committee” for each ballot measure. That tells a lot. Beware, there are some MAGA nutjobs listed.
As for me, I am a YES on all three. Please join me.
READING ASSIGNMENTS:
Here are some articles you should read:
(Montana Free Press) – Supreme Court candidates dodge, and leverage, political rhetoric
It’s too bad that this nonpartisan race can’t be nonpartisan.
(NY Post) – Bruce Springsteen endorses Kamala Harris, slams Donald Trump as ‘dangerous’
The MAGAs are going to boycott so many artists that tickets should be easier to obtain…
(The Guardian) – Melania Trump passionately defends abortion rights in upcoming memoir
I wonder if she will vote for Kamala…
(The Hill) – Walz clarifies ‘friends with school shooters’ gaffe
Walz is 103,545,632 gaffes behind Donald Trump…
ONE MORE THING:
Besides college and NFL football, this weekend is going to be great for watching sports.
The WNBA playoffs are in full force. So are the MLB playoffs (go Royals).
My Kansas City Chiefs play on Monday night! How cool is that?

President Creepy? Could happen

This guy is something else. Hard to believe he’s actually has a chance of being elected as a U.S. senator to represent Montana! What an embarrassment.
“He’s accountable for a record number of veteran suicides,” Sheehy said. “He’s accountable for the dysfunction of Veterans Affairs and let’s hold him accountable by sending him home.”
“I’m a war hero, a job creator and a philanthropist,” Sheehy said. “Those are three things that Jon Tester can’t say.” (And a real dumbazz I might add!)
Ya gotta read this entire article.

Arguably the most depraved, disgusting, worthless, vile person to ever hold public office. Absolutely without humanity or decency. Truly amazing that he has a cult following.

He’s hiding the Extortion 17 coverup. He knows things that would ruin a lot of narratives of Seal Team 6 and the squadrons he was in. Drug use, theft etc. Why isn’t anyone actually looking into his unit? Navy Seals of his generation were the epitomy of misconduct and he was only in the Navy for 6 years, or as he says “most of my adult life”
Interesting. Thanks for the comments. -JmB
Good Morning Jackie,
Indeed it is a great weekend for almost any sort of sports fan. With the Griz and Cats also on the field there’s almost too much to choose from.
Getting to today’s column’s politics, you state that no Montanan should vote for Sheehy until he comes clean on the myriad of questions outstanding about him. In fact, no Montanan should vote for Sheehy simply because we are here barely a month to the election and he has kept all these issues unexplained. This is a clear demonstration of how he would act as an elected official. Much like his selector, Steve Daines, he won’t answer any questions with anything but MAGA platitudes.
But in truth the only questions that absolutely needs to be asked and answered before the election is “Did Joseph R. Biden win the 2020 presidential election?” and “Will you support the election process if Donald Trump does not win the election?”
Given that we know Daines is all in for Trump, we certainly can assume Sheehy will follow his lead, and work for the ultra rich and not for the average true Montanan. (This, of course, excludes those folks living in the Yellowstone Club, at Moonlight Basin, at the Rock Creek Ranch etc. who have selected Montana as their residence to get fishing and hunting rights)
The answer is obvious from Sheehy’s use of his own ranch property. Why should he change once elected?
Great comments. There’s just something that Sheehy does not want people to know. He’s hiding something. Thanks, JmB
He’s ahead in the polls. He sees no need to address troubling questions.
The polls, especially in this state are rarely accurate involving Jon Tester. The respondents skew heavily toward the persistent Republican state influence. But I believe in this particular election, the effect of ALL women in Montana voting pro choice will overcome the existing Republican bias. Similarly, the veteran portion of the electorate is not likely to go against such a stalwart supporter as Jon Tester. I have to believe that a lot of Montana veterans are upset with this chicanery of refusing to come clean with the information discussed above, particularly that which involves questionable actions while in the military and his denigration of Montana Native Americans who are widely represented in the veteran community.
It’s hard to believe there are enough millionaires and newcomers to Montana to overcome Sheehy’s overt questionable behavior.
It will be interesting to say the least. Many of the polls seem to be from right-leaning groups and this is typical plan to influence voters.
I’m surprised there have not been more well-known polls in Montana.
The campaigns know pretty well where they stand. They are probably doing some rolling polls to see if there are trends.
Thanks, JmB
