Greetings! Here are the topics for today’s column:
- Vance/Walz Debate
- Knudsen Lawsuit
- U.S. Senate Debate Fact-Check
VANCE/WALZ DEBATE:
My first thought toward the end of the debate was that it was nice to see two candidates actually debate and not attack each other personally. It was kind of warm and fuzzy. I don’t think it changed too many minds.
I hope Saturday Night Live does a skit about it.
JD Vance probably won the debate. Tim Walz started slowly and then kicked some ass in the second half.
One part that stuck out was that Vance refused to say that Trump lost the election. Vance dodged the question and said he was focused on the future.
This should concern us all.
There was an interesting moment when they were talking about guns and school shootings. Walz said, “I sat in that office with those Sandy Hook parents. I’ve become friends with school shooters. I’ve seen it.”
Some say it was a gaffe. I guess we’ll have to see what Walz says about it or what his campaign says (spins) about it. Nonetheless, it was embarrassing.
The bottom line is I think we will be better off if Trump and Vance lose the election.
You can see the reports about the debate HERE, HERE, and HERE.
KNUDSEN LAWSUIT:
The Daily Montanan is reporting that former Montana Highway Patrol Col. Steve Lavin filed a lawsuit Friday alleging Attorney General Austin Knudsen unlawfully forced him to resign and misrepresented the terms of his employment.
It’s odd because Knudsen is usually filing lawsuits – many against the Biden Administration. This lawsuit will be interesting.

U.S. SENATE DEBATE FACT-CHECK:
MTN News is reporting that the Montana Senate race is one of a half-dozen tight contests across the country in which Democrats are defending seats they need to keep their one-seat majority. PolitiFact is partnering with Scripps TV stations and Lee Enterprises newspapers in Montana to fact-check the campaign.
There were several parts of the debate that were fact-checked. Click HERE to read the article.
## THE END ##

Haven’t seen a debate like that in 40 years.
Can we kick Harris and Trump to the curb and let Vance and Walz just straight up run for President?
Both are so much more dollars and cents ahead of Harris and Trump it’s not funny.
Vance is crazier than you know.
”During her September 30 show, Rachel Maddow reported Vance “wants to shut down American universities & business using extra constitutional powers. He wants to rip them out like a tumor and install political religion.”

The vance theory of political activism.
“Sometimes you have to create stories to motivate the MAGA base, doncha know?”
And guess what. It works! This dude is VP material.

I noticed the MAGAs were throwing accusations against CBS and the two moderators as soon as the debate started.
The part you sent just shows them trying to move on from a topic.
That’s what they were supposed to do as moderators. -JmB
MAGAs whining about debate mods. Who could possibly have predicted that.
I’m sure you guys wouldn’t whine if the debate was at FOX.
No matter who moderates the presidential debates, someone will complain. It’s the American way!
Vance did a good job of telling his lies with conviction, for sure. Even during his biggest whoppers like Trump and Obamacare. Good optics. And Walz didn’t challenge enough of his lies and assumed facts that aren’t facts. Vance’s whining about fact checking sort of poked a hole in his self-assured facade, though – if you’re admitting getting fact checked you’re admitting lying.
Was interesting to watch Vance’s dance distancing himself from many of Trump’s/Republican party’s statements and positions as well. And see him behaving far more like a reasonable human than he does out on the campaign trail. Almost like he was audtitioning for the job of president himself for some alternate universe Republican party rather than 2nd fiddle to Tubby and Tubby’s policies in the Party of Tubby. Call it the big overarching background all night long lie.
Overall it was kind of a bro fest. Big change from the kind of nasty debates we are used to seeing when Tubby is involved. Big change even from some of the sharp VP debates of the past, when the VP candidates played the bad cops/attack dogs of the ticket.
