MONTANA SUPREME COURT CANDIDATES:

Lee Newspapers has posted a story about the candidates for the Montana Supreme Court that you should check out. All four candidates participated in a forum held by the state bar association. 

Lee Newspapers reports that former federal magistrate Jeremiah “Jerry” Lynch and Broadwater County Attorney Cory Swanson are both running for chief justice on Montana’s high court. Two district court judges, Katherine Bidegaray of Richland County and Dan Wilson of Flathead County are both vying for associate justice.

These races are very important. As I have already said, Swanson and Bidegaray will get my vote. 

Election Day is just about 50 days away!

Out of the blue Sunday morning, former President Donald Trump posted the following on Truth Social (Source):

I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!

The post received around 43,000 likes.

That does not seem very presidential. Trump is just an angry person. When he attacks people he puts their life in danger. 

TRUMP ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT #2:

Reuters and other sources are reporting Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was safe on Sunday after the FBI foiled what appeared to be an assassination attempt while he was golfing on his course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Secret Service agents spotted and fired on a gunman in bushes near the property line of the golf course, a few hundred yards from where Trump was playing, law enforcement officials said. The suspect left an AK-47-style assault rifle and other items at the scene and fled in a vehicle but was later arrested.

Politics have become so nasty in the past two decades, that it’s no wonder that we don’t see more attempts to assassinate candidates. Any attempt to assassinate a candidate is wrong no matter which party they belong to.  I don’t care for Trump and I want him defeated at the ballot box. I am proud that I have never voted for him and never will.

    • The semi-surprising thing to me is that both shooters turn out to be disaffected former Trump supporters. And knowing that it’s not at all surprising that both were also sick puppies for many years before they decided to act out against the guy who disappointed them so badly.

  2. Have our national elections become more like Mexican and Banana Republic elections where presidential candidates are targeted for violence? I hope this can be stopped and it doesn’t go down to the state and local level. It’s hard enough to recruit good candidates without the violence or threats.

    IBack in the day I did the doors for state and local candidates. I remember the door to door focus of the Pat Williams and Ted Schwinden campaigns. . I’d be afraid to do the doors now.

      • The politics have changed because of one group and one man. Trump and MAGA. No Dems are espousing and inciting violence. If we had a real press in this country, they would have stopped this “both siderism” crap long ago. Now look where we are.

      • Not really sure what this has to do with anything. The Haitians in the news have come here legally looking for a better life.
        But, since you went there, I imagine their average IQ is higher than MAGAs.

      • The link Swede posted states quite clearly that the number 67 is from a study (not actual tests), and “These results are pretty controversial and should be taken with a grain of salt.”

        But never let any actual facts get in the way of critical thinkers re-spewing MAGA propaganda.

        Karl Rove said it best the other day. He was talking about Tubby and his disaster debate performance, but it may as well be applied to MAGA as a whole:

        “Mr. Trump was crushed by a woman he previously dismissed as ‘dumb as a rock.’ Which raises the question: What does that make him?”

      • Ya see, Swede, this is why the MAGA racist cult will never reach their goal of turning the US into a Nazi country. That ship has sailed. Like it or not, diversity rules the day. You’ve got an army of hate filled bigots. We’ve got the culture, like Taylor Swift and the NBA. Your side offers nothing but ugliness, and the vast majority of Americans prefer a vibrant cultural of beauty. Is there a Nazi NBA, or Nazi music and movies? Lee Greenwood maybe? It’s over, Swede. Your dark side lost and they just don’t know it!

        Love these guys. The NBA is a regular UN of sports. Talent from around the world makes basketball better, just as does our diversity. Buy by God we could use some Haitian restaurants in Great Falls instead of all the chain crap we got.
