It was no contest; Vice President Kamala Harris destroyed former President Donald Trump in the debate last night.
The first 15 minutes was pretty even, but then Harris baited Trump and he lost his cool a few times and lied several times. Harris stood up to him and he was never the same after. During one part of the debate, Trump repeated the false rumors about Haitian immigrants in Ohio abducting and eating pets. (Source) Trump also said he did not lose the 2020 election.
A CNN instant poll had Harris winning the debate 63-37. The fact-checker on CNN said Trump made 33 false claims and Harris made 1.
As Trump circled the drain, the MAGA folks were scrambling to try and help Trump. They will be doing it for the next few days. They want people to believe it was three against one on the stage because the ABC moderators fact-checked Trump a few times. Trump even visited the “Spin Room” after the debate to try and change the narrative. Some folks are telling lies, such as she was provided the questions beforehand and fitted with an earpiece. These are all bullshit excuses.
One report said that U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham, a close friend of Trump’s, said that his debate team should be fired and Trump was unprepared. He called it a disaster. (Source)
After the debate was final, Taylor Swift announced on Instagram:
I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. (Source)
It was a convincing win for Harris. She should gain in the polls. Trump looked old and became angry and confused several times. Harris owned him tonight. Someone said if Trump was my father, I’d put him in a nursing home.

Swede, what happened with Obama’s cash for clunkers? Remember that? They took every old car and truck off the streets! Just try finding parts for your old trucks. They’re all gone! Crushed and sent to China! And that really pisses me off, for that’s all I have is old trucks. I refuse to buy a new overpriced pos truck. They suck and are a waste of money.
I suspect the same thing will happen with guns. All the old worthless beater guns will be turned in, and folks will be left with just their high class guns! No more beater pistols for each truck. No more so called truck guns. You’ll have to put a nice gun under each truck seat now where they’re liable to get stolen or rusted. I’m already there. All my beaters are pretty much gone. So I’m left with only quality firearms for all my gun needs. I don’t like it but I can live with it.
I still have a formidable armory though. I laugh when they arrest some perp and call him a terrorist because he had maybe thirty guns. Hell, that’s not even enough to be a considered an average gun owner in Montana.
I once decided that I should record all my serial numbers off my guns in case one got stolen. Every time I thought I was finished, I remembered a couple of more I overlooked! I quit after about forty and said the hell with it. You need at least ten different guns just to fulfill you hunting and defense needs! Four trucks and one concealed carry gun, and that’s five guns right there!
So, in conclusion, I’m not too worried, Swede. I’m not about to dig up my buried guns in the back yard just yet and turn them in. They’re safe for now! But I sure do miss beater guns! I might turn a few in for the money!
I think you need two guns in every room. The problem with burying them is you may forget where.
Larry when I lived in the big city they did gun buybacks and you are right that’s pretty much all that got sold back was the beaters.
But those were voluntary. What Kamala called for at one point was mandatory buybacks of AR-15 type gats.
I don’t think such a mandatory buyback has ever been implemented anywhere, it wouldn’t pass muster in Congress or the courts anyhow.
Like JD Vance and his plan to make every woman register her period so the government can track it in a giant database to make sure she wasn’t sneaking off and getting an abortion to rob some commander in the nation of Gilead his offspring by his handmaid, Kamala was probably just doing a mental exercise. Or she’s “evolved”. Or whatever the Republicans claim every time they’re caught in a flip-flop.
Bottom line it ain’t gonna happen.

Reuters interviewed 10 people who were still unsure how they were going to vote in the Nov. 5 election before they watched the debate. Six said afterward they would now either vote for Trump or were leaning toward backing him. Three said they would now back Harris and one was still unsure how he would vote.

Just in … “Nope” Rosendale still voting nope, still killing his own party’s bills, and still demonstrating that the Republicans are incapable of governing. This time he helped kill Republican Speaker Johnson’s government funding bill that would prevent a shutdown in October. A lame duck but still working hard to say “nope”.

Also if the mods were on anyone’s side it was Tubby’s, constantly allowing him to get the last word on every subject with his bleating “Excuse me, excuse me, I have to respond” even though it was not his turn. They gave him way too much of the debate’s airtime. Just keep the damn mike off.
