SHEEHY – IF YOU’RE NOT A RAPIST:

It looks like Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy has stuck his foot in his mouth, again. The website Jezebel is reporting that Sheehy, who’s running against Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Tester, seemingly compared Tester’s criticisms of him to rape allegations.

In audio from the event obtained by Jezebel, Sheehy seemed to compare himself to a falsely accused rapist, victimized by Tester’s “attacks” on him:

“His ads, you’ll notice his campaign is based on one thing: character assassination. He can’t talk about what he’s done, he just has to trash me. It’s all lies. People ask me, how do you fight back? Number one, I can’t, because it’s like, if you’re not a rapist, how do you prove you’re not a rapist? I can’t prove it, it’s impossible.”

I’ve seen many commercials from both candidates and Tester is doing a very good job at explaining what he stands for and what he has done for Montana. In Sheehy’s commercials, I see him promoting his wealth and that he was a Navy Seal.

The “if you’re not a rapist” remark should disqualify Sheehy from public office. He seems to be getting desperate.

PROJECT 2025:

CNN is reporting that former President Donald Trump says he does not know who is behind Project 2025. CNN says there are at least 140 people involved in it who have ties to Trump, including six of his former cabinet secretaries.

The Western Word has learned that Chris Anderson from the Office of Senator Steve Daines is listed as a contributor to the 2025 Mandate for Leadership, The Conservative Promise. (Source)

BIDEN PRESS CONFERENCE:

It was probably one of the more anticipated press conferences in recent history. I don’t know if Biden changed any minds during his one-hour press conference, but he did show he has a lot of knowledge about foreign affairs.

Biden had a few gaffes, but I think Biden was always good for a few gaffes when giving speeches.  It did not start well. He called Vice President Harris, Vice President Trump.

At posting time for this column, I believe 17 Democrat elected officials do not want Biden to run for a second term.

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION:

In case you forgot, the Republican National Convention begins Monday (July 15) and ends Thursday (July 18). It is being held in Milwaukee.

I look for Montana Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy to get some decent speaking role to help boost his candidacy.

  2. Folks, I hate to be alarmist, but it’s time to start paying close attention to threats headed our way. Perhaps I know a little more about fascism and authoritarianism than most, because my degrees forced me study assiduously Latin American history and politics for the last forty-five years or so. The parallels between what happened in Chile, Argentina, Nicaragua, Guatemala, etc. and here are terribly disturbing. We know what happens when crazy violent fascists take over a government because it’s all been done before with the help of the United States. And the MAGAs are proposing the exact same kind of takeover here in our country.

    The only difference is that here, they’re telling us in advance what they propose to do! And that’s freaking amazing. They apparently think that they so well-prepared their cult following that they will be generously welcomed with open arms and no resistance. But that remains to be seen. When they draw up lists of folks to be attacked, believe them! For they’re not kidding. And they are drawing up lists. Trump has his own nazi “secretary of retribution” already picked out!

    Never have we been in a place like this before. Hard to say what’s going to happen. Hard to know how many crazy MAGAs will take up arms, or how many MAGA cops will do Trump’s bidding. Military too. Hard to know if any sort of real resistance can be formed. But it’s definitely time to stay vigilant.

  3. Amazingly coherent Biden. If he’d drop the creepy whisper bit it would help. He did declare nobody says he has NO chance of winning. That’s true so far.

  4. If Sheehy is butt hurt about alleged attacks on his character, maybe he should try putting some actual policy proposals and positions out there for people to chew over instead. But he doesn’t. “Navy SEAL”. “Trump conservative”. That’s his entire platform. Well, that plus attacking Tester’s character.

      • And that’s exactly what we need, another useless do-nothing legislator like Zinke.

        But to Ryan’s credit, I don’t remember him whining publicly about attacks on him.

    • The rapey thingy is all designed to curry favor with his orange god and his MAGA base. Remember that because of the “false” rape allegations he’s endured, trump has compared himself to the suffering Jesus! Trump even mimicked opening his shirt to show the MAGA crowd his wounds!

      Timmy is simply suffering selflessly along with his own personal savior, Don the con! When you’re a MAGA, sometimes it’s necessary to be Christlike in order to better the world! The symbolism of his comments reverberate through the reptile MAGA brain! They’re all victims of the LBGTQ left! And Tall Tale Timmy is simply the latest victim. But being the mighty seal he is, he will gladly carry the cross thrust upon him! Puuuuuhhhhraze victory!
