SHEEHY RESIGNS FROM BRIDGER:

The Montana Free Press (MTFP) is reporting that Montana’s Republican U.S. Senate candidate Tim Sheehy resigned on Monday from his positions at the aerial firefighting and surveillance company he founded with his brother, saying Bridger Aerospace needs a fully engaged chief executive officer during this year’s fire season while he focuses on his run for office.

If Sheehy had any brains he would resign from the U.S. Senate race. His lies will catch up to him sooner or later.

The MTFP also reported on some of the problems there have been at Bridger Aerospace under the leadership of Sheehy:

But the company reported concerns about its finances at the end of the year and is facing a lawsuit from two former employees who claim Sheehy and Bridger’s former parent company breached a contract involving stock compensation.

Sheehy has loaned $2 million to his campaign.

When Sheehy is defeated in November at least he will have something to fall back on. MTFP reports in his latest financial disclosure form filed with the Senate mid-June, Sheehy said he paid himself $2.4 million from Bridger Aerospace last year. He reported holding between $11 million and $55 million in Bridger Aerospace stock in a trust, a separate LLC and in stock he has not cashed out, according to the disclosure form.

SCOTUS DECISION:

This has been a very good week for former President Donald Trump. After the debate last Thursday, people are calling for his opponent, Joe Biden, to withdraw from the race.

Then, Reuters reported the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on Monday that Donald Trump cannot be prosecuted for actions that were within his constitutional powers as president in a landmark decision recognizing for the first time any form of presidential immunity from prosecution.

Reuters also reported that the justices, in a 6-3 ruling authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, threw out a lower court’s decision that had rejected Trump’s claim of immunity from federal criminal charges involving his efforts to undo his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden. The six conservative justices were in the majority, while its three liberal members dissented.

Just imagine if Trump is elected, he can have some lawyers look over what he plans to do and make sure they tie it to his constitutional powers. That could be very scary.

Will Trump ever be held accountable for his actions? The Associated Press (AP) is reporting that Trump’s lawyers on Monday asked the New York judge who presided over his hush money trial to set aside his conviction and delay his sentencing, scheduled for next week.

His lawyers probably think they can tie it to his constitutional powers – the part about paying porn stars…

Then we have President Joe Biden giving a speech Monday night about the U.S. Supreme Court decision. You can watch his five-minute speech HERE.

U.S. MEN’S NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM:

The U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team was defeated Monday night in the COPA América Group Stage.

ESPN has the details, HERE:

The U.S. men’s national team crashed out of the Copa América on home soil at the group stage after a 1-0 loss to Uruguay at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, Monday.
Mathías Olivera scored the decisive goal for Uruguay in the 66th minute after a long check by the video assistant referee for offside and widespread protests from the U.S. after the goal was given, seemingly by the finest of margins.
However, with Panama beating Bolívia 3-1 in the other final game of Group C taking place simultaneously, a win would have been needed for the U.S. to advance behind group-winners Uruguay in second place.

It was another disappointing showing by the USA men.

  1. Glad I’m not afraid. I actually think Michelle Obama has a chance of beating Trump. How could she say no? Maybe she can just not bother to campaign like Joe did the first time he won.

    • Michelle has expressed many times that she isn’t interested in the job. I take her at her word. But stranger things have happened.

Not sure what you mean about Joe not trying 1st time. After Iowa caucuses he kind of skipped Vermont to concentrate on S Carolina, but he campaigned hard there. That primary win is what made him a front runner.

After that it was constant campaign.

  2. No longer a democracy, we now have a literal king. And that’s damn scary. A felon, rapist, mobster, insane con man could become our new king. And his billionaire handlers have already drawn up plans for his fascist kingdom. Gotta wonder if this is really what the country wants.

“To fully appreciate the profound change the majority has wrought, one must first acknowledge what it means to have immunity from criminal prosecution. Put simply, immunity is “exemption” from the duties and liabilities imposed by law.

In its purest form, the concept of immunity boils down to a maxim—“{t]he King can do no wrong”—a notion that was firmly “rejected at the birth of [our] Republic.” To say that someone is immune from criminal prosecution is to say that, like a king, he “is not under the coercive power of the law,” which “will not suppose him capable of committing a folly, much less a crime.”

Thus, being immune is not like having a defense under the law. Rather, it means that the law does not apply to the immunized person in the first place. Conferring immunity therefore “create[s] a privileged class free from liability for wrongs inflicted or injuries threatened.”
