CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE:
I checked the Montana Secretary of State’s candidate list throughout the day on Monday. The Montana SOS candidate list as of 7:00 p.m. says 444 candidates are running for 174 offices. (Source)
Thanks to all those who are running for elective office.
I think the big news is that former Congressman Denny Rehberg is running for the House in MT-02. It looks like his main competition will be Superintendent of Public Instruction Elsie “Kitty Litter” Arntzen and State Auditor Troy Downing. There appear to be about five other Republicans who will fight it out in the Republican primary on June 4, while there are four Democrats in the primary for MT-02.
The Montana Free Press (MTFP) has a rundown of all the main races HERE.
You can visit the Rehberg for Congress website HERE.
UPDATE: MT SOS INTERFERENCE:
Last week I wrote about a report from The Electric that disclosed Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen emailed Cascade County Commissioners in February urging them not to rehire Rina Fontana Moore or a member of her past team for the election administrator position. Jacobsen sent the email via her state government account with the state seal.
The Montana Free Press (MTFP) emailed Jacobson several questions and she provided answers but did not directly address one asking why she had chosen to weigh in.
Check out the MTFP article HERE. The Montana press must keep the elected officials and candidates honest.
THE ACADEMY AWARDS:
The Associated Press (AP) reports that an estimated 19.5 million people watched Sunday night’s 96th Academy Awards ceremony on ABC. That’s the biggest number drawn by the telecast in four years.
Those numbers should upset the MAGA Republicans.
Former President Donald Trump sent a mean tweet during the event about host Jimmy Kimmel, who read it out loud to the audience and to the millions of viewers. Kimmel then said to Trump, “Isn’t it past your jail time?”
Soon, Jimmy. Soon.
ONE MORE THING:
This explains a lot…
During a call to ABC station in Moosic, Pennsylvania (WNEP-TV), a Pennsylvania man blamed a certain weather phenomenon on road construction. Apparently, traffic circles or roundabouts are responsible for creating tornadoes.
“We didn’t have ‘tornaders’ here until we started putting in the traffic circles. Cause, on account of, you know why? When people go round and round in circles, it caused disturbance in the atmosphere, and causes tornadoes,” the caller stated.

I wonder what his thoughts are about chemtrails…
