MINOR BOOKKEEPING ISSUE?
The Daily Montanan is reporting that Montana’s junior Senator, Republican Steve Daines, failed to disclose financial information in excess of $1 million during his last run for Senate re-election in 2020. The Daily Montanan says a spokesperson for Daines called it “a minor bookkeeping issue.”
I’d bet if this happened to a U.S. Senator running for reelection on the Democratic ticket Daines would be screaming foul from the mountaintop. Daine is two-faced that way and one of the most partisan members of Congress.
I guess when you are one of the richest members of the U.S. Senate, not counting a million here or a million there is a nothing burger. It was also reported that when the Steve Daines for Montana committee was given opportunities to explain the accounting or appear to defend its campaign practices before the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), it declined.
This sounds like Daines is playing from the same rulebook as Donald Trump, who believes the rules don’t apply to him. I sincerely hope that the FEC nails Daines for this.
The rules are there for a reason.

PARANOIA IN THE FLATHEAD:
Since we all need a good laugh from the conspiracy folks, I bring you the following from MTN News:
MTN News wants to clarify unsubstantiated claims that were recently circulating online in the Flathead Valley what some people believe was a busload of immigrants being dropped off in the area.
The reports were brought to MTN’s attention and we contacted the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, which was also notified and investigated the claims.
Sheriff Brian Heino says the bus was actually carrying Army National Guard members who were in the Flathead for training.
All of the people on the bus were legal U.S. citizens.
Great googly moogly…
MASK MANDATES:
I saw a report in USA Today that said the three Republicans who had their pay docked in 2021 for flouting a mask mandate on the floor of the House of Representatives during the COVID pandemic got no help from the Supreme Court on Tuesday. The justices, without comment, declined an appeal from Reps. Tom Massie, Ralph Norman and Marjorie Taylor Greene in their suit against former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
It’s amazing how dumb some people can be.

Amazing that lots of Montanans plan to vote for this idiot. Do they think he’s kidding about his plans? How do they see trump world benefitting them? Is Christian fascism a great improvement? I don’t get it.
