TRUMP TAKES NEW HAMPSHIRE:

Once again, it was one of those primary election nights when the winner was declared not long after the polls closed. I think the Associated Press (AP) called the race for Donald Trump about 15 minutes after the polls closed in New Hampshire.

The last results I saw before posting this column showed Trump beating Nikki Haley by about 12 points. Haley says she will fight on, but when the money starts drying up, she may see things differently. The next big primary is February 25 in her home state of South Carolina. Recent polls show Haley losing to Trump there by an average of 37 points. (Source)

The AP says that a rematch between Trump and President Joe Biden “appears increasingly likely” after Trump’s win Tuesday night. No kidding.

I am shaking my head in disbelief at Trump maybe becoming President again. How can people be so blind? I could never lower myself to vote for Trump – so that means that Biden will most likely be my pick in November. I have said this many times, but they are both too old to be President. We can do better.

ELECTRIC BUSES:

MTN News reported about Havre Public Schools adding two electric school buses to their fleet last January. After a year of operation, Havre Public Schools are pleased with how they have performed, even in extreme weather such as the sub-zero stretch earlier this month.

Woody Woodwick, the Service Attendant for Havre Public Schools says the electric buses are cheaper to operate: “The diesel buses are going down the road for about $0.56 a mile,” Woodwick said, “Our gasoline buses are close to $0.80 a mile. And these (Electric) are about $0.23 a mile.”

Earlier this month the Biden Administration announced they will be granting over $13 million to seven Montana school districts to purchase 41 electric school buses. That announcement was slammed by U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale (R-MT/02):

“This grant is yet another policy in Biden’s Green New Failure agenda that is a waste of taxpayer money, a blow to America’s fossil fuel industry, and a pointless addition to our national debt,” said Rep. Rosendale. “Anyone who believes that electric school buses will make it through a Montana winter is not only fooling themselves, but the Montanans that will have to foot the over $13 million bill.”

Talk about putting your foot in your mouth. I bet Rosendale was against battery-powered flashlights because they were replacing gas lanterns…

2024 DOOMSDAY CLOCK ANNOUNCEMENT:

I was holding my breath waiting for this announcement:

This year, the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists leaves the hands of the Doomsday Clock unchanged due to ominous trends that continue to point the world toward global catastrophe.

In a press release, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, states the Doomsday Clock was reset at 90 seconds to midnight, still the closest the Clock has ever been to midnight, reflecting the continued state of unprecedented danger the world faces.

Although the clock stays the same – we are still in trouble.
