Greetings! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. I will be posting occasionally as we welcome in the new year. Here are the topics for today’s commentary:

CASCADE COUNTY ELECTIONS:

You may have heard that the Cascade County Commissioners voted unanimously to appoint Devereaux Biddick as the new election administrator during their Dec. 22 meeting, but you have not heard my thoughts about the appointment.

Until now.

The Electric continued the great reporting on this issue, with this information:

In 2022, Biddick signed a petition asking commissioners to:

>ban all electronic voting equipment, excluding Automark machines
>voting be allowed with valid identification only
>ban mail-in ballots except for overseas, military, disabled or other qualified persons
>ballot turn in on election day only, with one day counting
>create smaller precincts for voting and counting
>clean voter rolls by requiring all qualified county residents to reregister

In my opinion, the Biddick appointment was terrible. They might as well left Sandra Merchant in charge. There are people in Cascade County who want to curtail voting by people who are not aligned with the MAGA crowd. It seems that county commissioners Joe Briggs and Jim Larson felt the outrage from their MAGA friends and decided to appoint someone whom the MAGA crowd could accept. Where I come from, we call people like Briggs and Larson cowards.

STATE SENATOR JEREMY TREBAS:

I have often said that we (our state and country) need to have younger folks get involved in politics and run for elective office.

Unfortunately, there are few “younger” people, like State Senator Jeremy Trebas, who are too immature to hold elective office.

The Daily Montanan reported that Sen. Jeremy Trebas retweeted a post on social media — since deleted — that implies Jews sacrifice babies.

After being called out, Trebas removed the tweet, but apparently, he did not feel the need to apologize.

The blog, WTF406.com has called out Trebas and reported the following:

If you aren’t familiar with the many forms of anti-semitism, that particular tweet is based on “blood libel.” Blood libel is the entirely FALSE allegation that Jewish people use the blood of children for ritual purposes. No, seriously. This disgusting lie has been used for centuries to persecute – and justify the MURDER of- Jewish people.
Trebas’s disgusting retweet resulted in him being called out by the Montana Human Rights Network, Montana Jewish Project, and the Anti Defamation League

WTF406.com also stated, “We even contacted the Great Falls Rescue Mission, where Trebas serves as Director of Operations. (Their lackluster response made it clear they aren’t taking any measures to protect the unhoused from Trebas’ bigotry.)”

I am not sure why the Rescue Mission would employ people who have so much hate in their hearts.

I am also not sure why anyone, except bigots, would vote for this immature bigot.

NEW ELECTED OFFICIALS:

There were some new and a few returning elected officials who were sworn in on December 19. (Source)

MONTANA MILLIONAIRE:

I did not win the Montana Millionaire lottery drawing on Tuesday. In fact, I did not win any of the drawings this year or any of the many years that I have played Montana Millionaire. Additionally, I have never been an “instant winner” when getting my tickets for Montana Millionaire.

How odd is that?

MTN News reveals the three ticket numbers that are worth $1 million each and where they were sold:
