ELECTION ADMINISTRATION DUTIES:
Heads-up! The Cascade County Commission meeting that will discuss a resolution removing election duties from the clerk and recorder’s office has been moved to Exhibition Hall in Montana Expo Park. The meeting will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 12. (Source)
It’s always fun to watch the political parties fight. It’s even better when a political party is having a fight among its members. Several years ago the Republicans did not hold hardly any seats in Cascade County, now they run the place and most of them are from the fringe of the Republican Party – the Trump-loving MAGA folks.
City Commissioner Rick Tryon, a local MAGA superstar, chimed in about the County Commission removing election duties from the clerk and recorder’s office, saying:
I find it troubling that some of the local folks who screech so loudly about “saving our Democracy” are the very same ones who are now working overtime to try to remove duly elected local officials from their duties and responsibilities by any means necessary.
I speak from direct experience here – Jasmine Taylor recently attempted to have me removed from the GF City Commission based on a phony, bogus “ethics complaint”, which failed miserably.
But that failure was not for lack of trying on her part, it was due to a pathetic and utter lack of substance.
And now the sore losers are trying a similar tactic at the county level.
Charlatans like Taylor and the local little gaggle of usual suspects couldn’t care less about “ensuring integrity” or “saving Democracy”.
All they care about is political revenge, feeding their narcissistic egos with public attention, and hurting anyone who doesn’t share their narrow, hateful worldview.
Taylor does not have a vote in this circus, but she does have a voice that she uses very well. On Tuesday, three Republicans will vote to remove election duties from the clerk and recorder’s office, who is a Republican, and not anyone else.
I think it is wonderful that the Cascade County Commission has at least two “common-sense” Republicans who will probably decide that saving the County from destruction was bigger than the party. They are probably screwed from ever winning another race in the county, but it’s nice to see that some people take their oath seriously.
MATT FOR MONTANA:
On his Matt for Montana “X” account, I noticed that U.S. Representative Matt Rosendale posted photos of his visit to Mar-a-Lago on December 8 to see former President Donald Trump.
Rosendale wrote the following:
It was great to see the best President of my lifetime, Donald J. Trump, at Mar-a-Lago this morning.
We need President Trump back in the White House, and we MUST elect STRONG CONSERVATIVES to the U.S. Senate to enact his America First agenda!
Maybe Rosendale was “kissing the ring” of the former President and trying to get him to endorse Rosendale for the U.S. Senate. Several others are trying to convince Trump to go with Rosendale.
BOWL MANIA:
Are you ready? According to ESPN, there are 43 bowl games, beginning Dec. 16 with Georgia Southern facing Ohio in the Myrtle Beach Bowl and ending Jan. 8 with the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Plus, we have the FCS semifinals this weekend. Friday night the University of Albany plays at South Dakota State. On Saturday, North Dakota State visits Montana. That game is at 2:30 p.m.
ONE MORE THING:
I noticed that Buffalo Bills linebacker Von Miller played Sunday. You are probably wondering why I bring it up.
CBS Sports reports:
Days after turning himself in to police amid domestic assault allegations, Bills pass rusher Von Miller is still available to play in Sunday’s Week 14 game against the Chiefs, general manager Brandon Beane told reporters Wednesday.
The Sporting News reported:
Bills general manager Brandon Beane said the team would “follow the lead of the NFL” on a potential investigation, added that “we have to let the legal process play out” and called the alleged incident out of character for Miller.
At least Miller is not getting fired before he receives a fair trial…

Did everybody read the Daily Beast article about Tim Sheehy’s deep-pocket family connections to his bedazzled bootstraps story? Turns out he’s beholdened to the Blackstone Group.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting stuff. -JmB
This just in:
Sad little demonstration by 2’s of the pro-Merchant crowd today, down on the corner(s) of 9th St. and 10th Ave S.
Maybe 7 or 8 demonstrators total, milling to and fro, corner to corner. Signs that were nigh impossible read unless you were stopped at the light right next to them.
Funny that they think protesting will do any good in this situation. Thanks, JmB
Seeing the far-righties like Tryon and fellow running dogs crying all butt-hurt that anyone would dare attack “their” far right county elections administrator is priceless.
It was just over a year ago that the righties were rampaging around the cage, screeching, and flinging poo about the elections office when it was run by Rina Fontana-Moore. Including, according one quote of Joe Briggs, calling for a non-partisan appointed elections official.
That old adage applies: “If you don’t want a war, don’t start one”.

Welcome back from IR by the way.
Great background. Thank you! -JmB
of the 1,035 brains of football players examined at Boston University, nearly three-fourths had CTE. ( Washington Post) Testing your reason? Football ? Shut it down.
Santos’ trial for over two dozen felonies doesn’t start until next September. Maybe if there was such a thing as a speedy trial anymore with these people I’d agree with you. He’s doing pretty well for himself no longer making laws for the rest of us now anyway.
Glad your back.
